hey, I'll start by saying sorry for making another keyboard thread, but I am trying to buy one, and this is the only one that I can buy in my area. (steel series is all sold out cant even find them online)
It has all the features I want, Cherry Blacks(I like cherry black, I have big clunky fingers, and I like the more pressure needed to activate switch is better for me, My big fingers are no good for "light" keys plz dotn turn this into a Cherry switch thread)The standard layout that I am used too, audio volume up and down buttons, wrist rest, etc etc....
So what I am really asking is, Has anyone heard anything bad about this board? or Thermal take in general. I dont want to support a company that produces crap or has bad customer service.
price is 130$usd about the same as the filco. and the added benefit of my getting it b4 christmas, and since I am impatient and immature that is a big plus
also the Cord on this thing is HEAVY DUTY i mean its like 1cm thick braided nylon, they call it military grade. Being someone who has ruined countless electronics because of "frayed cords" this is another big plus for me.

ok I geuss I will be the first to review it then.....

keep us posted! i've been looking into a mechanical keyboard too and i'm all open ears to whatever's available and good

sounds like neat stuff to me !
As long as it has switches such as a FILCO/CHERRY, it might be a new option for us to buy this one aswell.
I hope you might review this one after buying, elseway I'm gonna appreciate it if someone is doing that for you
Greeting, instarrrr

try buying a wrist rest?

No comment on the keyboard itself, but my views on ThermalTake as a company are good. Have purchased one of their powersupplies, and it runs solid, and still no problems after 2 years.
I will be interested to see how this does against the SteelSeries 7/6g's?
I dislike the red branding on the board though

Sturgeon's Law applies to Thermaltake as a company. They've got a few stuff that is pretty decent to good but way too much of their stuff are just rehashes of other existing goods or really yucky in general.
I suppose this keyboard fits in with the TTeSports Challenger: a product that is basically the same as everything else on the market except with the gaudy aesthetics you expect from Thermaltake. This doesn't look any different from any other mechanical keyboards on the market to be honest.

nk rollover, cherry black, not shiny, no gigantic enter key. Looks solid. Who knows who actually makes it: maybe Costar, maybe some other OEM. If it's a solid company, the KB is probably fine, regardless of what one thinks of Thermaltake

May want to ask around at geekhack.org to see if anybody has had their hands on one yet. If not, I'm sure they'd appreciate a review. As MamiyaOtaru says, it hits all the major checkboxes for a good mechanical keyboard, and has some nice bonus features (audio jacks, multimedia keys, USB hub, wrist rest) mixed in with all the marketing nonsense (1000Hz polling, gold-plated, military grade...) The price seems competitive too, considering the features.
The centered legends on the alphabet keys gives it a unique look.

I agree, except I can actually purchase this keyboard. Filco, Steelseries are sold out.(I do not like the 7g it has a giant wrist wrest that will not fit on my desk. It has all the same features and is at the same price so, I dont really care that it has giant red Tt on it, I dont look at the keyboard much.
And to the other guy, I will never purchase anything from Amazon ever again. I have twice had used items sent to me from amazon, when I was assured I was purchasing new items. Amazon is just a brothel that sell's it's whore's out without checking to see if they are clean or not, that is a good way to get aids. I trust Ebay more than amazon, and I dont buy from ebay much either lol.(I bought a 1400$ canon lense, and I got a used version of the 400$ lense. I was less than satisfied)
I will prob be getting this after my next paycheck, I'll let you guys know. As someone else said, it's probably made by some chinese company and Thermal Take just slaps their logo on it, so it is probaby the same as the steelseries keyboard, just with key style I am used too.(no giant enter) Besides I already have a good sticker that will cover up that thermal-take nonsense
I eagerly await the other guys review.

Thermaltake is a great company. I'm using a Thermaltake PSU, and their products, in general, are very well made. I don't know how well they'll fare in the keyboard market, but going on brand alone I'd say it's a good buy. One thing that bugs me about this keyboard is that the Windows key is on the right. I use the Windows key a lot :|
But that's just personal preference. Additionally, the "Military Grade Cable" and gold plated USB connector are just plain excessive, and the 1 MHz poll rate doesn't matter with PS/2.

Thermaltake were very late in sending the sample, I received it only yesterday and initial impressions are positive. Thermaltake are just one of a long line of companies that are making (selling) mechanical keyboards as gaming keyboards, hopefully this will bring down the cost across the board.

I can comment on Thermaltake in general. I have bought their Thermaltake Lanbox case two times in a row. One of the best designed cases I have ever owned, very good build quality. You can tell Thermaltake tries to make a good product. I also had a Thermaltake heatsink and fan a long time ago, shit was PERFECT and reduced temps quite a bit.
But I will say my steelseries 7g feels amazing, and I have used other mechanical keyboards and so far they have not been comparable.

Have you used a filco? one with cherry browns in particular. If you have, how did you like it in comparison to the 7g? Just wondering since I'm about to get one.

Well I don't believe I have tried a keyboard with browns yet. My siig has Fukka simplified white alps. They feel great, but the 7g is quite a bit better. I messed with a black widow before, definitely felt weird. And a guy I met had a happy hacking keyboard, I liked that quite a bit, but the Steelseries feels like I can play the fastest on it. just personal preference. And the wristguard is SOOOO nice compared to anything else, and the build quality is ridiculously good.

Okies My review is online now at Benchmark Reviews: Meka G1 Gaming Keyboard
Weired thing is the Challenger Pro appears to be more popular than the MEKA G1. Seems people like things that glow more LOL.

You wrote in your review: "CONS: - Full anti-ghosting only works with USB to PS/2 adapter"
NKRO is ONLY possible with a PS/2 connection, with the USB you get maximum of 6 keys pressed at the same time. There is no keyboard that can give you NKRO on a USB connection so its not a conn, just the nature of the technologies implicated. Hope you correct that, because it can give readers the impression that there are some USB keyboards that can pull NKRO off, which is clearly not the case. Otherwise a good article.
