It seems as if if you do any unorthodox strategies, people flame/bm you on ladder. 'Mech OP' has been claimed by more than a few Zergs since I started meching, personally.

| ZvT on Cloud, i scout gas before barracks, so i make a roach warren on 28 supply, send 5 roaches to his base and keep 2 at my nat, then continue to drone. When the roaches arrive, he has 3 orbitals, 4 hellions, no bio, no bunkers, types "6 months old strategy scrub" and leaves. |

Don't message people like that after the game, just makes you look like a BM smartass. |

I told him how to beat it, that is all. I wasn't being a smartass. When he spotted the bunker rush, 1 bunker was complete and another was on the way. He wasn't BM, he just vented a little against the bunker rush strategy in general. You were BM by messaging him afterwards.
Unsolicited "advice", acting superior or gging your opponent by messaging them after the game are all forms of BM.
Seriously, why is it we get someone in this thread every five pages trying to insist that messaging this kinda stuff after the game isn't BM? It is, it's harrassment. You're effectively rubbing their nose in it regardless of your intentions. |

We trade fairly evenly until the end of a game, I notice my opponent never has an observer with an army which keeps letting me get money EMP's. I am on 5 comfy bases macroing up a storm; as my opponent reclaims his natural 4th(which would be his 5th) which I killed earlier, I push it, EMP'ing about 10 templar in a ball...I get super cost efficient and roll him.
I drop a nuke on the 5th to kill a lone archon and the BM starts:
As I march on his 4th on the 9 o clock after stomping his 3rd, he adds to my comic relief.
At his last remianing base he has a sizeable ball of zealots, a few temps and 1-2 colossi.
I stutter/emp/snipe with all the power of a terran bioball that smells blood.
He tells me I just A-moved over him. Confused, I ask the following, and he confirms his ridiculous opinion.
He asks me what button I stutter with; to piss him off, I tell him "s and right click", dance my marines, stim them till they are red, then stomp his nat, and tell him to GTFO. He listens.

Your BM is way worse than his.
It's worse to do a manner celebration with your marines rather than to tell your opponent that he beat you in a 37 minute 5 entire map slugfest because ghosts outrange everything and you stim a-move with OP bio?
I can be a decent guy and have a convo with someone who is upset about losing that game without being a dick, but if you start acting mouthy i'm going to rain 16 mules on you and dance on your grave.

Yes it is. He didn't ask for your advice, he didn't want your help, he was clearly annoyed and wanted to be left alone. Regardless of what you personally think about it the general consensus is that messaging a clearly annoyed opponent FOR ANY REASON after the game is BM. This includes anything from trying to give advice to sending them a gg if they just quit to calling them a pathetic noob who doesn't know how to play. Just don't do it, it's BM and you're harrassing them.
And unsolicitied is an adjective means "not asked for". For example "unsolicitied mail" referring to junk mail sent to you without asking. Don't know where you're getting the "picking up hookers" reference for from that. |

The reason I didn't post the rest is because it was mildly BM by me, trying to bait more BM/rage. First of all, it didn't work, and secondly, it isn't what this thread is about, so I didn't include it. It had nothing to do with what took place before, considering it came afterwards. Of course you lost to it because the first bunker was farther away from the hatchery, but that's the whole point. You didn't have an overlord to see it, thus didn't spot it, and the way you could beat it the next time is to do that.Last edit: 2012-07-15 12:31:40 |
