I'm sure everyone has noticed that the VODs that had been stored on the jon747 YouTube account are no longer available after the account was terminated. On top of that, many games have never had their VOD uploaded on TLPD to start with.
So I was thinking: why don't we find the missing games? At least some of them are readily available on other hosting sites. Finding and re-uploading the lost games would be too much to ask of Zatic or Aers, but as a community we should be able to at least do part of the job.
DISCLAIMER: This thread is not meant for discussion. If you want to contribute, post a missing VOD.
I'm going to make two lists in the OP:
1. VODs that have never been on TLPD - "Missing VODs."
2. VODs that are no longer available on TLPD after jon747 was terminated - "Terminated VODs."
I'm gonna create four separate categories of posts you will be allowed to use:
1) "VOD missing" - for every game in TLPD without a yellow cross; when someone notices a game is missing, I'll add it to the list.
2) "VOD terminated" - for VODs that used to be stored on jon747; when someone notices a game is missing, I'll add it to the list.
3) "missing VOD found" - used whenever someone finds a VOD that has never been on TLPD; as soon as someone finds the VOD, I'll scratch that game in the list and add a source provide by the poster.
4) "terminated VOD found" - used whever someone finds a VOD that used to be on jon747; as soon as someone finds the VOD, I'll scratch that game in the list and add a source provide by the poster.
VODs in each list will be organized by: year > event > month/day. Each submission should contain the information necessary to indentify the game in TLPD: date (Y/M/D), league, map, winner, loser, and the source (TLPD if you're notifying us of a missing game; VODs link if you found a missing VOD).
Additionally, you can add any missing shows, such as Battle.Net Attack, etc.

Lately I've been concerned that we might lose some vods forever, and Youtube is not the way to go to keep it from happening.
What happened to Jon747 may happen again, so what about a storage site combined with a torrent tracker? |

Well we'd need someone to seed games for a torrent to stay alive. Maybe if everyone holds onto a few games a torrent could work, but usually they die at one point or another.
Maybe we can also add them onto different video sites. |

| I noticed some crunchyroll videos do not work. They simply won't work for me. Is that the case for everyone else? Check the last page e.g. Anyone know what might be the problem? |

| I am quite worried about all vods that are not backed up and/or on just youtube or different file server. Too bad there is no server dedicated just for that. (and kept by SC enthuasists) |

Yeah I agree, there needs to be a central site with everything backed up. If someone can put it together I'm willing to bet quite a few people would be willing to donate money to the cause. In 5 years I wanna be able to still go back and watch a sAviOr classic without worrying that Youtube took it down in the meantime. |
