edit: is it going to be a type of circuit, is that the point of top3 qualifying for grand finals? Yes it is! Each month will have qualifiers up until the day before the grand finals. On that day a last minute tourn will be held for the final spots with the big $$ tourn being on the next day. Just make sure you register to the league forums here, or your registration will not count. Aside from the tournaments, I want to get everyone in the New England community together and really keep it thriving.

Time to start practicing
Looking forward to attending this.
I was watching Ryan's Stream not too long ago, and this guy could prolly beat me using his non-dominant hand and his monitor off...
Either way. I'll represent the "too old for gaming, but not too old to quit" crew.
|
That's the spirit. What's this too old stuff? I'm turning 30 this month damnit! Just because I need to liquor up to get my arthritis under control for gaming doesn't mean a damn thing :D
|
What's the general skill range of the players competing?
|
Some of the players are 2600+

So probably not exactly worth it for a silver leaguer? lol >.<

Also, if you are in or close to Maine, CCG is having a bronze/silver tourney on Dec 31.
-edit- Also, it's a great event to just watch live and get to know the community. hell, you may even make a new buddy that will help you make it into high diamond by training with you.

I'm a 1700 Gold... and I'm still entering... all you need to do is play smart.
In fact. I've beaten a few diamond-rated players based on the fact that I was completely underestimated by them.
this is a strategy game, everyone starts with 6 workers, and 1 base. (and an OL for you zergies. lol) what you do after that, is up to you.

Frankly, if you're not in diamond and you don't join this because you think you won't win first place, your priorities are in the wrong order.
I mean, I'm in diamond and I'm going more to troll Drogith IRL. It's so much more fun IRL.

Bitters.352 Protoss You actually made me start laughing out loud at work and people started looking at me funny... well... more so than usual.

You are so full of shit.
You don't have a job. And you certainly aren't near other people.

On December 14 2010 02:35 Echo312 wrote: So probably not exactly worth it for a silver leaguer? lol >.< Actually, quite the opposite. What good does it do if you don't come? Don't go to a LAN with the goal of winning first unless you're already a semi professional or a professional player. Just come and have fun. ;D

and fun we certainly do have!
except for when i see hp
fuck him

Do you guys plan to host qualifiers throughout New England or is this gonna be strictly Maine?
Also what's with the iCCup maps?

So I just can't win. (JAY KAY )
Seriously though, I really cannot stress this enough: Don't choose not to come solely because you're not in diamond league, or whatever. If you want to come and can make it, just come and play.
So what if you get knocked out after you first couple of matches? Ask one of the better players if they can give you some tips or could watch the replays with you. Or if we're all busy, just go make fun of Drogith. While he's streaming.

Also what's with the iCCup maps? The qualifiers will be throughout New England in 3 of the 4 LAN centers I know of. Season 2 (looks to start in June) will use all 4. The final 2 day tournament will rotate locations as well.
I picked the iCCup maps to spice things up a bit as well. They are different than what everyone has been practicing on with the ladder. So it will be like starting fresh for everyone. Plus, iCCup maps tend to be more balanced than the Blizzard ones, but that is not always the case.
