don't compare the two. There's 3 of them. 1 is dedicated on just observing, he doesn't talk throughout the games. This was already debated in the last thread.
There are 4 of them actually. 2 commentators, 1 caster and 1 observer.
Maybe GOM should use the Korean observer for the English commentary, as it's a _huge_ difference in quality, imo. No offence Tasteless. :X
I think the difference is that the Korean observer listens to the Korean commentators and can anticipate what they want to look at (as well as driving the action themselves).
There would frequently be confusing mismatches between Tastosis and the observer if they commentated over it - think those awkward moments before the match starts where Tasteless has no queue and has to guess when the camera will cut to the game.Last edit: 2010-12-15 13:03:57 |

That doesn't quite work because then they wouldn't be able to point out details whenever they want. Like when Artosis spouts some strategy and they go oh yea, it can be positioned _here_ and pan the camera there. They're basically limited to only casting what the korean obs will show, even though they can see other things going on with their own observing screens.
Well, isn't this the same situation the Korean commentators and caster have to handle?
No. Korean observer is always aware of what the commentators are talking about and moves the camera accordingly. He doesnt understand English and therefore cannot observe for global streaming. |

Right, this makes sense. Thanks for clarifying. Maybe there will be a point in the near future when some resources will be left for an additional English-speaking observer! ;DLast edit: 2010-12-15 13:08:16 |
