I'm disappointed that this thread has so much ForGG hate in it (and "omg sc2!" speculations). ForGG was a good player and entertaining to watch. Like most players he went through slumps, but seriously.. this is uncalled for.

I'm sure he had good reasons to make him retire so suddenly.

No, i expected them to give the position to a high ranked player, or do a best-of-1 among a select few or any other method. Anything but this.

Giving it to a high ranked player is incredibly biased and silly. Like I said, there is no time to arrange a play-off of any sort, even if it's Bo1. The proleague/starleague schedule is very tight as it is, they would have to push back matches to arrange any such play-off.

I never really watched ForGG much or cheered for him, but he's the earliest Starcraft progamer name i can remember learning. Let's hope he starts with SC2, would be a shame if he disappeared into thin air like EffOrt.

While its clear that he didn't retire because of SC2 there's still a chance he might give the game a try, he could definitely rise up to be one of the better players if he put his mind to it.

He wasn't doing that poorly lately, not the best but not the worst. Didn't he get eliminated in RO16 last season by Flash? He was in the RO32 of MSL, I guess he just decided it was time to move on.
