KBK Masters 2000 Brood War Tournament The KBK Masters 2000 Brood War Tournament is the mother of all starcraft tournaments. This is the first time that so many starcraft players from all around world will compete in a single live tournament for a share of so much prize money. It's also the first time a tournament operator has offered to pay for the airfares of contestants who qualify online within the top 32 so that they can attend the live phase of the tournament. Anyone with brood war and an internet connection is eligible to qualify for the live tournament finals in Korea scheduled for January the 23rd. Players can register here for the KBK ladder (costs US$10). Once registered, just like the regular Brood War Battle.net ladder, every time you play starcraft online you'll have the added excitement of knowing that if you can qualify within the top 128, you'll be invited to compete in the live finals in late January. Even if you're not sure if you have what it takes to be among the starcraft elite, there is no better way to improve your starcraft skills than to register for the KBK and compete among the world's best starcraft players. The prize distribution in US dollars for the 1v1 section of the KBK Masters 2000 Brood War Tournament is approximately as follows: 1st: $8,748.91 2nd: $2,624.67 3rd: $874.89 4th-8th: $262.47 9th-16th: $87.49
- The "Starcraft Masters 2000" included over 49,000 single players, over 980 groups, and the first world women single competition with players over 1,200. These facts made the world eyes gather to Intercontinental Hotel, Seoul to check who is the best in Starcraft.

EDIT: Fixed some typos, added flags on WiLLEt and WhiZ, added Mr.X into top 8 KBK#1, also clarified who was playing which race in ChobO vs Slayer from the Paris tournament. Putting a "not confirmed" on Mr.X in top8 as the original news from SC.org states that he only got into RO16.Last edit: 2011-01-08 10:56:55 |

Awesome job this research ! Good to see some of the old legends. TheMarine was the "great" terran before Boxer became big, and I always considered [GG99]Slayer to be one of the most solid terran players around (even though he was random I think) - don't know why he "retired" relatively fast. Also gotta love NTT |
