And now I keep getting "Served timed out"-disconnects every second game... Apparently many others too. Such a good game yet I can't really enjoy it like this. |

Recently i've just watched LevelCapGaming video on BF3, especially his AN94 / KH2002 videos.
Man that guy's youtube channel is worth watching :D I previously had no idea how do I play burst fire rifles. After watching his playing, i basically copied it wholescale and suddenly KH2002 is my new fav gun haha.
How many of you guys out there were like me who didnt like any of the burst fire mode rifles at all? Watch his KH2002 video and try it out for yourself. I find myself new stuff to enjoy now |

AN94 fires 2 bullets at the same point, really really good mid to long range weapon especially with heavy barrel (I've outsniped snipers by sidestepping their bullets lol). The best part about AN94 is the fast reload though, but its close range is kinda lackluster imo
Haven't tried the KH2002 yet, i'm slowly getting 5 stars in all assault rifles, L85+Silencer is easily the most OP rifle yet. All you need to do is press LMB and the gun does the rest o_OLast edit: 2012-01-30 11:02:31 |

KH2002 isn't a bad weapon, although sometimes I fire too quickly and it jams. Of course, in some situations, you would rather have the full auto, but it's alright. The iron sights aren't great, and the reload time is pretty long. Just finished unlocking everything for it, though if I were using a burst weapon, I'd rather use the M16A4. As for the AN-94, the bullets do not fire at the same location, it counts as 2 separate bullets (the second bullet fires at a 1200 RPM), and is subject to the standard random deviation. I only use the AN-94 on Tehran Highway because it favors long-range engagements, rather than the CQB on most of the maps.

Yeah according to LevelCapGaming, he did mention AN94 works well with Heavy Barrel, because it apparently reduces bullet spread at long distance 100% for AN94, 50% for the other guns. Not sure if he's pulling the numbers out from thin air, but thats what he claim...and im inclined to agree with personal experience. With heavy barrel its pretty easy to outsnipe snipers especially when their under suppression effect from your more numerous bullets.
KH2002 > AN94 imo, because of how AN94 only shoots 2 bullets at 1time which is pretty slow(usually 3-4burst to kill someone). My finger gets tired after 5games haha. KH2002 3bullets each tap = 2-3 burst to kill someone. its actually pretty fun. I haven't tried M16A4 for the burst fire mode tho.
OH and Burst Fire rifles are for LAZY GUNNING your already encouraged to burst/tap fire all your guns already. with the KH2002/AN94/M16A4, your burst firing regardless anyway. It's a good gun to play when your being LazyLast edit: 2012-01-30 13:33:53 |

i only use that recon loadout for a fun challenge, but if you want to play serious and contribute then you should just stick to assault/engi. support/recon are way underpowered.
keep practicing though. the skills you learn from cqc sniping will transfer over and make other classes really easy to play. |

offensive recon is one of my favorite things to be! what is offensive recon!?
what I do is work my way into the actual enemy base (if playing rush, which is my fav.) by trekking through the outskirts and picking off targets as I see them. Once I'm in, I either: pick off their snipers by sneaking up on them/laying low until I see a shot from somewhere etc; or I set up a good spot in their actual base and pick off people who are trying to defend the objective. |

offensive recon basically is a term refering to people moving up to 100-150m range to fight with a lower power scope, instead of the long range sniping people expect from a recon. its a pretty effective style seeing how a sniper rifle does at least 65dmg per shot(bolt action), if you follow your squad and capture points, you can pretty much expect a 1hit ko if the enemy takes any sort of damage....of course its dependent on how accurate you are since you pretty much get only 1shot.
It has many connotations. Some mean going up with your team with a shotgun or some other general weapon and using your motion sensor and whatnot to support your team as you push. I generally just stay back 50-100m with a low power scope and pick off people, however.
it c an be this, or with a shotty or smg. Personally, I prefer smg because you can adapt to a lot of situations, but this works too if you're really sharp at aiming. You're just boned like 75% of the time if someone flanks you
on that note, what are the general opinions of the unlockable all class smgs??? Like what is the best, etc.

| I would like the AS VAL more if the clip wasn't so damn small.. but then again, it would be OP if not. The PDW-R and P-90 are identical to me. Some people seem to be favoring the MP7 if you read a couple pages back. Personally, if I'm not using the AS VAL then I'm rolling with the PP-19. |

They're all pretty different, and have strengths that play to different styles. With PDWs, I think it's a personal preference thing... there's not really a "better than all other PDW" in my opinion.
For instance, many guys swear by the VAL, but I hate it. Too inaccurate at range, too small a clip for my tastes. Yeah, the built in silencer is cool, but all PDWs have unlockable silencers anyways. As a personal favourite, I take the PP-19 and the PDW-R whenever I go PDW (which is almost always while playing Recon). My next down the list is probably the UMP. |

Recon is UP on public servers when you hide in a bush 500 m away. In competetive play you almost always need 1 recon for MAV and radioB. Recon also do good to shut down paths in rush (or guard objectives from beeing armed or defused). |

This is accurate, the Heavy Barrel attachment will reduce bullet spread for the first shot by 100% for the G3A3 and AN-94, while it is 50% for all the other guns. However, it also doubles the subsequent spread increase per shot, against a 50% increase for the other guns. [source]
The main advantage of the AN-94 is that it has a burst RoF of 1200 RPM and zero bullet spread for the first shot, the two bullets are nearly instant and with a good scope it will murder anyone that stands still for more than a split second. Any scope glint can nearly give you a free kill if you don't get sniped yourself. If you can learn to manage burst fire and clicking fast in close quarters, the AN-94 becomes a beast.
The KH-2002 is a decent weapon as well but it doesn't get the spread reduction as much as the AN-94. However, the M16A4 (burst version) is better stat-wise in every aspect than the KH-2002 except vertical recoil (0.2 vs 0.25 for the M16).Last edit: 2012-01-31 01:40:41 |

AN94 fires at 1200 RPM while only in burst mode, so the first bullet and second bullet travel close together. With heavy barrel, the two bullets essentially are ontop of each other so you get double damage. That makes it the best assault rifle for mid to long range from my personal experience. Unfortunately, its a let down at short to mid range compared to other rifles imo
I'm not sure about any other rifles in burst mode, but I doubt they act like that since AN94 is the only one with a high RPM I believeLast edit: 2012-01-31 02:44:34 |

I gotta wonder why I do it .
Because getting one shot kills feels so much more rewarding.
Soflam is awesome for the jets. I wonder why people don't use soflam much. |

But what exactly is offensive recon?
I gave it a go with the L96 acog 4x, laser sight, straight pull bolt, and the g18 suppressed as a side arm. I started sniping and instead of my usual 200-300m headshots, most of my targets were between 100-150, though surprisingly you can shoot up to 200 relatively easily with 4x :O.
I must be doing it wrong though, I was getting schooled by machine gunners and struggling to break even on KDR. Only when the teams were pretty stacked was I able to pull off some pretty good ratios.
i only use that recon loadout for a fun challenge, but if you want to play serious and contribute then you should just stick to assault/engi. support/recon are way underpowered.
Recon is UP on public servers when you hide in a bush 500 m away. In competetive play you almost always need 1 recon for MAV and radioB. Recon also do good to shut down paths in rush (or guard objectives from beeing armed or defused).
How does recon shut down paths? Just bunny hop your way down the lane, and you will never die.
