i would recommend the rosewill rk-9000. cherry blue switches are tactile and clicky, and very satisfying. You can get it from newegg at a fairly reasonable price (100$) for the quality.

tactile can be a bit distracting
you don't really need tactile to get used to pressing a key halfway, it might just take a few more days to learn

Well. Will see how this works for me.
Next time i'll try to remember and go check TL for new hardware that is likely to have TLs attention before ordering.

if price isn't the most important thing go for a Filco w/Cherry Browns, you'll never regret it as its one of the best mechanical boards out there...

I think the keyboardco has them available...
If not wait for a leopold from elitekeyboards..

I brought the Filco Majestouch, with the cherry mx blue switches. It's easily the best keyboard I've ever used, I would recomend it to anyone.

Is it just as mechanical as all the mechanical keyboards people talk about on these boards? I mean, does it have the same technology?

I don't know why everyone is so afraid of Razer.

2 friend and I have owned a total of 5 razer carcharias headsets. (1 year warranty)

-Mine broke after 13 months
-1 broke after 14 months
-1 broke after roughly 13-14 months
-Friend bought another one, it broke after 1 month, warranty was honored
-Warranty replacement still working.

2 years, 1 of 5 working. In their defense, they were good while they worked.

Also I've had 3 razer mice.
-Razer Diamondback, amazing mouse - left click stopped working. Amazing mouse otherwise, the -best I've ever used.
-Razer Habu, (doesn't really count but yeah) - awful mouse - still worked but eventually some disgusting fungi (or something) grew inside the mousewheel.
-Razer Boomslang, left click sometimes randomly doubleclicked
-Current mouse: Razer Imperator, nasty nasty behavior when you lift the mice with that sensor. I RMA'd one thinking they would send me a new one without that bug. They sent me a brand new one with the exact same issue and then I learned that they all have that problem. I like that they let the RMA go through :>

Their products do tend to die quickly. Also lately, all the brazer product I've had had braided cords - and they have some kinks and messed up parts.

Honestly, Razer's products do die quickly. I still buy them but I think I'm severely mentally challenged. I also have a razer black widow and I really hope it lasts

Completely agree with you. Gaming gear in general appears to be made of glued together pieces of industrial waste. And a weak glue at that.

I have owned 3 razer mice.
Some entry level thing, forgot the name.
The mid mouse button axis literally broke while gaming. (Playing warsow, were i constantly used it for dashing)

Habu (microsoft coop thing), 55€. Right mousekey stopped working after about 8 months.

Deathadder, 45€. Left mouse button started randomly doubleclicking after 5 months.
Never consistently enough to demand my money back, but just enough to fuck with you. Click a file to delete it? oops, started that large ass vid instead. Click a probe to send scouting? yea, grats, that was ALL of them.

now i've gone back down to lower cost. Got a logitech mx518, 20€, working since almost a year, but meh. Can't bring myself to really like it anyway.

Shit can be expensive as it may, but i expect it to last.

Wish i'd never started buying gamer gear, its just a waste of money for the most. That old 5€ mouse down at the office is working for about 8 years now. But now i'm used to nicer shape and feel, 2 extra buttons and macro-functionality alleviating the need to move my hand to further away keys.

Its not just mice of course. Broke 2 keyboards, 2 headsets rather quickly as well.

Time to try something different, so i went for steelseries. Hope i've some luck with their stuff.

Seeing so many threads about mechanical keyboards i was hesitant to create a new one to ask this simple question, however i will if i dont feel that it has been answered ;o

What are the options of mechanical keyboard in europe, without having to deal with ridicilous shipping costs? I.e when ordering a 6gv2 from the SS site there was only one shipping option - DHL, which costs 1/3 of keyboards price, which is fucking ridicilous.

Brown switches would be ideal, so is the Das Keyboard the option? What are the alternatives? I saw the Keyboard Company site which is based in uk, do they ship to the rest of europe (i.e lithuania) or not?

Keyboard Company ships worldwide afaik, at least they did ship a Filco for me to Finland

Some of the cheaper mechanicals, like the steelseries 6gv2 and razer blackwidow are also probably carried directly by the PC equipment webstores in your country. At least in Finland it's not a problem to buy either one of those without having to pay for international shipping.

Just ordered a 6gv2 in germany: preiscompany.de

Might be cheaper for you than ordering overseas.
There's bound to be better shops for you; i ran into this one by googling after i found out all my usual shops dont stock stuff other than razer/logitech.

I find it interesting that there's no discussion of buckling spring vs Blue Cherry switches.. Do you guys all just accept that blue cherries are better? There are a fair amount of people who swear by the IBM Model M buckling spring switch...

There's a company called unicomp that makes reproduction IBM keyboards.. Dunno what these other ones retail for, but the spacesaver is $80 and it has buckling springs instead of blue cherry switches. Supposedly the buckling springs take a little more force.. Anyways here's a link to unciomp.. Let me know why/if blue cherry switches are better.. Starting to look into getting a sweet mechanical keyboard
