[Help] Xsplit

Hello,

I want to use Xsplit because it has better quality then podcaster, but the problem is that I can not stream my ingame sound and my microphone at the same time because the Xsplit audio options doesn't have two options. I can only choose one audio stream. But I see many people can stream microphone and ingame sound together without having any problems. When I try stereomixer it doesn't work I guess. My OS is Windows XP.

Best Regards,

Imprez

I pick my my webcam as the "mic," and it automatically incorporates in-game sounds and my voice. I have yet to test my headset.

I have the same issue. You need to buy a better sound card or just use your mic sound with your speakers up loud.

You can use a program called Virtual Audio Cable to combine multiple audio feeds into a virtual Line Out. It's not free, but as far as I know its the only program of the type that works well.

What you need to do is get virtual audio cable.

Enable stereo mix
Install VAC
Open an audio repeater (MME) and set the wave in to stereo mix and the wave out to line 1
Open another audio repeater (MME) and set the wave in to your microphone and the wave out to line 1
Set Xsplit to line 1
Run the repeaters

You'll need to have the two repeaters going whenever you stream, but it should work.

Be prepared; I am hijacking this thread.

Okay so in order to record sections of livestreaming into vods with own3D, you have to press "Start Record" on the preview screen right?

This inevitably means that all of my vods start with a preview screen, before I alt+tab into a game or something. Is there some way I could delay the recording by a few seconds, or maybe a hotkey I can press while in game?

XSplit has speaker capture, but it only works with Vista/7. So you will need another way of getting speaker capture.

If you're using XP, then like GoldenH said you need another way of getting it since capturing sound output is not possible in Windows XP. For Vista/Win7, its very freakin easy. All you have to do is make sure that these two buttons are enabled

just make sure they are not crossed out.

If I'm using Xsplit and XP, what other programs could I use to capture audio? I'm trying to use FMLE but it's a bit clunky and not as nice as Xsplit

Here is the exact way to create a stereo mix using VAC:

1. get Virtual Audio Cable - VAC ("buy" it or whatever, just get it.)

2. open the VAC control panel using Run As Administrator after you install VAC. should be named vcctpl or something like that.

3. set the number of cables to 2.

4. open 3 audiorepeaters (open the audiorepeater program 3 times... not audiorepeater_ks, just audiorepeater)

set them like this:
WAVE IN microphone
WAVE OUT Line 2

WAVE IN Line 1
WAVE OUT Line 2

WAVE IN Line 1
WAVE OUT Speakers

now run each of them.

5. Open Xsplit and look under settings -> general, in the audio (microphone) section you should now see Line 2. Pick Line 2.

There you go.

(You might have to go into Windows Control Panel and set your playback and recording devices to line 1 and 2, but I don't think so. It's been a while since I had to set this up.)

This is unneeded though I use it for when I want to transmit music on Ventrilo.

When you plug in your mic, the audio should switch to microphone and that's all that's really needed. Make sure both the mic and sound is on.
