That is correct. I signed up for one of these offers a while ago and my mailbox is now spammed with junk mails every day. Be very careful before signing up for one of these offers

The same goes for these "free" ipods/flatscreens/etc. It's a huge data mining operation so that they can sell info to advertisers (and have permission to do so by you signing up). No free lunches... especially not from corporations.

Hehe. Good thing is to use a separate mail account (Hotmail is easy) for subscriptions and registering to web sites that you are going to use one or just a few times. So your main mail account wont be spammed.

Hmm... sounds tempting. Setting up junk e-mail account is no prob, I just wonder how much regular mail they'll send you.

While I'm not familiar with the site Bishman linked, I have been receiving several different 1-year subscriptions (gamepro, computer shopper, pc magazine, forbes, & maxim to be exact) without receiving a lot of junk mail.

Sure you're bound to get some junk mail, but its a small price to pay for getting lots of reading material for 'free'.

What Jibun said. I also get EGM, PSM, Computer Shopper, PC magazine, Maxim, PSM, XBN, and CGW all for free.

I doubt you will get junk mail.
