after watching all the beta vids I've come to a few conclusions/noticed a few things: 1. I can't wait to play this game! 2. Higby is terrible at sniping. 3. Apparently scattercannons are OP 4. The game looks fucking amazing. 5. Sniping is either really hard or there's some sort of lag they haven't sorted out yet because it doesn't ever look smooth.

Not really....the beta only utilizes one core and it runs fine on my 3.2 Ghz quad....or at least it did until the patch this evening.
At least they patch frequently, so the issue should be fixed.
EDIT: On low, the game looks like Halo. Halo: Combat Evolved.
Graphics is not what I am worried about, it is CPU and RAM Here are some of my specs Intel(R) Pentium(R) D CPU 3.00GHz 3.0 GHz Performance Rated at: 3.60 GHz 2.1 GB RAM GeForce 8800 GTS 512
So...do you think I can run the game?

If the game ran as well as it looked it should run ok but right now the game requires a fairly hefty powerhouse just to put the game in a runnable state. I would say with that RAM amount no way.
But right now its just beta. if you look at higby's stream you see the game looks quite low tech and his video's are super choppy and low FPS. Yet he has all top of the line hardware.

Somebody could have told me that you need 4GB+ of RAM at the moment.
I wouldnt bank on anything right now. An i5-2500k @ 4.0 and a 7970 does not run the game with absolute fidelity. Wait for the game to not be beta.
They are using the term beta test in its rightful manner here. Lots of work to be done. This beta is not an extended marketing thing like a lot of other betas.

So I have a question. When smedley talks bout the next beta wave being sometime after the 20th does that include priority keys? I got a key off the TL forums here and it said it was a priority key when I entered it on the website.

Well the wave of planetside vets is the 20th and priority keys are shortly after that so it's not a ton of time to wait.

The game is currently running in DX9 in 32 bit mode, even on 64 bit OSs. The game is hard capped at using 2 GB of RAM at the moment. The game is also only using one core right now. Support for DX10+, 64 bit, and up to 6-core processors will come in time. See the Planetside 2 forums for a FPS lag fix if you need it.

Been reading that those who grabbed Weekend Beta Keys from the NVidia site giveaway actually got instant, permanent access to beta; this was a mistake on NVidia's part. Smedley confirmed this on twitter and said they're just going to leave it because not too many people grabbed keys.
Anyone able to confirm? I activated one on my account but haven't bothered to try because I thought it was only for the weekend lol. I'll update you guys when I get a chance to try it.
