The only problem with this comment is that NonY 2-gate expands pretty much always. I haven't seem him do a 3-gate expand vs Zerg in god knows who long.. :-P |

He does go 3gate expand on his stream once in a while. No idea why he chooses one over the other though.

It was great ! Tyler was all smiling and happy. Havent seen him like that in a long long time. He even watched the broadcast of his games and said he was having fun reading the positive comments in this very own thread, if I remember that correctly.

I almost always 2gate expand but there are some cases when I feel 3gate will work better (either defensively or offensively). I think 2gate is the safer way to play unless positions are really close and/or you scout some indication of aggression from the zerg and your natural doesn't have a ramp (e.g. Shattered, Metal). 3gate sacrifices some probe production and gets upgrades going later. If you 3gate and don't use them all (you use them all only if you confirm that the zerg is attacking you), you can keep probe production but upgrades will still be late.Last edit: 2012-04-14 03:38:59 |
