Debating the exact meaning of a word that can be defined in multiple ways? God dammit, drop it and look at some paintings.

Babies are atheists lol. They don't believe in the existence of god.

Yeah, just like atheists, they don't know better :D

Atheism is knowing there is no God. Agnosticism is not knowing if there is or not. It still implies some kind of conscious opinion about theology.
Babies are just ... babies.

This "post a picture" thing seems very hard for some. This surprises me, as the words "atheism is" do not appear anywhere in an image tag.

So here's a picture of a clear cut.

It was later planted with millions of spruce and pine trees.

Then a massive forest fire swept through the area.

This picture shows one tiny portion of it, as it is about to be planted for the second time.

Without the fire, it would look more like this: + Show Spoiler +

I don't understand why people put in pictures with captions like that T.T. It's like saying, oh here's an image that is worth 1000 words, but here, let me insert a political/ideological caption which cheapens the image to a singular point of view, or, metaphorically, to 5 words.

Well if you look at the replies - there's your thousand words. Your post is like saying: "I don't get why people post pictures with zero words in them." It's the discussion that comes out of the pictures that says the thousand words.

And by the way, words are technically pictures.

I'm guessing to a certain extent that they're named satan in the context of a christian europe? Both are illustrations of Cronus devouring his children because of the prophecy that he would be overthrown by his offspring (Zeus) like his father (Uranus) was by himself.

Nah, Cronus is referred to as Saturn in those paintings because of the Roman god by the same name, not because of Satan. Greek and Roman names were pretty interchangeable. Both were the son of the sky and earth (Uranus/Gaea for Cronus, Caelus/Terra for Saturn). Both deposed their fathers and married their sisters. Both were the fathers to the gods proper. Both mothafuckin' loved them some scythes. Couldn't tell you why they went with Saturn specifically for the name of the paintings, but... eh. Why Ozymandias and not Ramesses?

And since we're talking Greek, let's close things out with my favourite depiction of Nike:

Most statues without a head have been the victim of pillaging or vandalism. Erosion takes quite a bit longer.

Jones is correct. Both the head and arms were destroyed, as well as one wing (they made a replacement based on the intact wing). While the head was never found, one damaged hand has been recovered.

No pictures this time. Fuck. Most everything I can come up with are just shots of clearcuts going back a couple decades.
