The mounting brackets for both 1155 and 1156 are identical so any CPU heatsink built for 1156 will fit in 1155. The CPU sockets themselves are different and are NOT interchangeable. Putting an 1155 CPU in an 1156 socket will damage the CPU, the motherboard, or both. | ||

I had a Cooler Master X6 and it only said LGA1155 on the box and it fit perfectly. | ||
