Disclaimer: Do not start smoking.

But it's too late for me, and I'm sure there are others that it is too late for. We might as well band together and get what we can out of it since life is even shorter now.

My main goal in making this thread is to broaden my and others' knowledge of tasty tobacco products. There are lots of different ways to smoke tobacco so I'll start by sharing my preferences.

You have to admit, it can make you look pretty cool.

Lets start with the basics...

Cigarettes
[image loading]
The stuff that comes in a box. I don't really prefer them, I've never experienced any with a flavor that didn't taste like chemicals. They burn ridiculously fast for some reason.

I like to roll my own cigarettes. It's more moist and fresh, and you can still tell that what you are smoking resembled a leaf at some point in time. Also, because you have to roll them yourself, you can't instantly indulge, you have to really want one. You can also sometimes find these in flavors, which can make things kinda fun. If you smoke pre-rolled ones in the box I would recommend trying out one of these:

The Cigar
I also enjoy smoking cigars on occasion. Mostly the mini ones, cigarillos, because I seem to get bored of the fat ones halfway through. I don't know much about cigars actually, which is unfortunate. But here is a picture.

Omnipresent's awesome guide to cigars:

The Pipe
And now, most elegantly of all, is the pipe. But who the heck smokes a pipe? Not me. But sometimes I wish I did. If anyone out there smokes a pipe please enlighten me to its mystical ways. All I know is that there are lots of flavors and blends, which are quite enticing.

Omnipresent's even awesomer guide to pipes:

Now onto my favorite smoking peripheral...

The Hookah
[image loading]

It is possibly the most underrated form of smoking. It's image may conjure up relations to hash and stoners, but I assure you it is smoking in its most innocent form. It's tobacco mixed with sweet fruit flavors and molasses, ignited by hot coals, and as the smoke is pulled through it is filtered and cooled by a bowl of water. The best description for it is "candy air". If you smoke anything at all you should smoke this. My favorite flavors are Cherry, or a Raspberry-Rose blend. Apple is also quite popular. It's a pain to clean, but it's worth it to indulge on occasion, and if you're lucky you can find a place near you where they serve them. It lasts for hours and it's one of my preferred methods of social gathering.

Okay. The end.

How do you enjoy your tobacco?

lol@disclaimer. Or you could just quit, it's never gone too far. Hate away haters, I smoked for 7 years, since I was 13. Mom smoked while I was in the womb, her and dad smoked around me since I was born. Quit a year ago, no aid at all, just said 'Fuck this.' put the pack down, and walked away.

If your gonna smoke something and damage your lungs, why not smoke something that actually gives you something back worth while. I won't say what it is but it's pretty obvious.

Still it's better to not smoke at all.

Come to think of it, can you make tobacco brownies?
Good, bad, I'm the one with the shotgun.

Smoking is one of a few things I've never tried and don't think I ever will. Even the people that smoke regularly hate it, and it kills you. I have a few vices like alcohol and a shitty diet that will kill me too, but at least those are pretty enjoyable.

Hookah with nakhla (flavortobacco w/e) is the chillest thing after ganja. I mean, friends gathering around and smoking the pipe, it's just perfect way to hang out tbh.

Been smoking cigarettes regularly for a while now. Not hooked on it completely though, mostly smoking because of habit. Good, because i can quit whenever i want pretty much. Just ordered some flavorcigarettes from china couple weeks ago. Had to order and test em out after i saw them.

I smoke normal filter cigarettes mainly Marlboro but sometimes I get parliament lights because I like that filter design. I think the reason why they burn so fast is because if you look closely at the cigarette there are little rings all around it and I was told long ago that they were phosphorus so by the time the lit part gets to that ring it burns a little bit more making your cigarette run out without smoking it. A way for tobacco companies to make more money off of us I suppose. Weirdly enough, I have noticed that cigarettes seem to turn off by themselves now. I'm not sure if this has changed recently.

When I was younger and had less money I would smoke those golden virginias, and drum also. You're right when you say you have to really want the cigarette b/c you have to roll each one you smoke and can't just get the instant gratification you get from the normal filter. But I remember that after a while of smoking rolled I just got annoyed with it and would ask a friend for a normal filtered one hehe.

I love smoking from a hookah also every now and then. It's really bizarre because when you inhale it doesn't feel like you're smoking but when you exhale tons of smoke comes out.

Tobacco... I think we should all quit for obvious health reasons, but after a while it becomes a way of life and very hard to let go.

Smoking a pipe is really nice. It's the best way in my opinion, but unfortunately I haven't had a pipe in some years. It's tasty, long lasting, and damn does it feel classy. You can pick up a pipe at any tobacconist, but you may need to go to a couple of places before you find a good selection of nice tobaccos.

The basics are that you always light it with a match to preserve flavor and you never inhale the smoke. Keep your tobacco sealed up so it doesn't dry (also don't get a lot of it at one go for the same reason). Also, be sure to clean your pipe. If you don't it will get wretched filthy.

A pipe can last quite some time, and it tastes far better than alternatives because it doesn't need to be mild for inhalation. It is enjoyable to experiment with different flavors and types of tobacco.

I smoke Marlboros as well and occasionally they'll start to go out. I was told it was a way to help prevent brush fires/wild fires?

I really enjoy cigars, because I love the taste of them.
Preferably corona-formatted habanos by Cohiba, Romeo Y Julieta, or Montecristo.
Sadly they are quite expensive (Romeos sell for around ~10$, Cohibas ~20$ and Montecristos ~15$).
I would recommend drinking a glass of good whiskey with them.

next to the upc code you will notice the acronym "FSC" which is "Fire Safety Cigarette" when they first came out i remember everyone asking gas station attendants if they had any "regos left" lol.

i smoke a pipe, i smoke captain black tobbaco. it has the most wonderful smell/taste. its kind of like spiced rum. not much to pipe smoking other than, start with a cheap corncob pipe to find a tobacco you enjoy. then invest in a decent pipe and dont smoke other things out of it, or even different tobaccos. once a pipe has found its tobacco they are paired for life, the pipe will go through a break in period until the tobacco infuses with the pipe. after this the flavors just burst. it is somewhat similar to cigar smoking. do not inhale "obviously", for those noobs who think this is dumb,#1 it will make you sick #2 if you are doing it correctly you will get a nicotine buzz, much stronger than a normal cigarette. #3 you look way more mystical shrouded in a plume of smoke that can not be achieved by inhaling.

if your a lifetime smoker as i intend to be.(i dont want to hear all the health bullshit, i know, i dont care)
you should really look into pipe smoking, its a very personal thing that is rewarding to those who like to adventure into new things. one piece of advice dont let anyone tell you off for being pretentious, the plume of smoke around your head already makes that quite obvious.
Someone needs to tell the truth, but it shouldn't be my job.

Same here, but I googled symptoms and whatnot so I somewhat knew what to expect in terms of longevity of withdrawal. Went cold turkey after that, and it was quite easy too be honest.

Well, I've never smoked tobacco (only cannabis).

So I started chewing Nicotine gum before 1v1 ladder games to improve my performance. Nicotine is an effective stimulant, and since I have no tolerance I figured it would help me out.

Can't say that it has. Nicotine gum tastes like shit, and I don't notice any change in mental capacity. So I dunno, maybe Nicotine just isn't my thing...

EDIT: Got too weird looking at myself everytime I visited the thread :S

I smoke the pipe. I enjoy it alot. My favorite tobacco is Rattray's Red Rapparee. Expensive, but good. Check it out.

I don't know whether to laugh at you, or feel sorry for you.

Are you really saying you took nicotine gum to get a slightly better performance in some ladder matches? You do realise this is a game right?
