I smoke a pipe. My fisrt pipe was a gift from a friend, a striaght stemmed briar pipe with a medium bowl. Ive since gotten a curved stem briar one ($22) with a deep bowl but since the stem has a very narrow tube it gets very ressy. i also had a small meershaum one that i liked a lot but it broke. I intend to purchase another straight stemmed pipe at school for around forty bucks.

I started with flavors like cherry and a few of the blends at my local smoke shops and have settled on vanilla. I dont have much experience with natural tabacco flavors, but i've also only been smoking a pipe for around nine months. I've never spent more than $5.30 an oz on tobacco (my usual blend is $3.78), making it much cheaper than cigarettes.

I differ from the vast majority of pipe smokers in that i inhale the smoke a certain amount. Its not like a cigarette where you can draw it in straight but if you fill your mouth or inhale through the nose a lot at the same time you can get a massive amount of nicotine.

One thing i love most about smoking a pipe is the comments. Whenever someone young smokes a pipe people always comment on how cool it is or, with aromatic scents, how nice you smell.

i recommend a pipe to anyone that enjoys tobacco.

The worst part of not smoking is the gigantic amount of smoke I inhale anyways.

I get that smokers don't care that they are willfully inhaling several carcinogens, and chemicals that make the body respond by producing CarcinoEmbryonic Antigen (CEA), but I do, and that's why I don't smoke. So why do I have to be completely surrounded by people blowing smoke in my face pretty much everywhere I go?

It's like smokers formed a pact, with the purpose of fogging up the air immediately surrounding me. I'll never understand why some people can be so rude, especially when a person's health is being compromised.

So if we could all remember some basic kindness, and not blow smoke in Chargelot's face whenever he does manage to make a public appearence at a SC2 event, I would really appreciate it.

Dear Non-smoking Counterpart,

We can no longer smoke in bars or restaurants. In the USA at least, there are few to no buildings you can actually smoke inside these days. That leaves the outdoors, which is great for you, since your risk of getting cancer from second-hand smoke outside, unless you purposefully position yourself in the center of a group of smokers for prolonged periods over your lifetime, is miniscule. Our apologies if you don't like the smell, but you don't hear anyone clamoring for the removal of busy streets and cars, so maybe just keep your slight discomfort to yourself and get over it. If people are actually blowing smoke directly into your face, don't blame tobacco: they're douchebags. However, it seems to me that a more likely explanation is a mixture of hyperbole and the world-view that you somehow figure into the decision-making processes of complete strangers. We hope you enjoy the multitude of other threads on this forum, but this one is for the second-class citizens also known as tobacco smokers.

Regards,
Smokers

I remember one time I smoked a whole lot of American Spirit. Perhaps too much. I felt so incredibly nauseous and sick and I think I even threw up once. Ever since then smoking any tobacco does the same thing to me (even 100% pure natural tobacco). I wasn't exactly a heavy smoker... maybe 1 cigarette per day. But I sure as hell stopped cold turkey, and I've never finished a cigarette since.

I had a hookah once... but I didn't use it for tobacco ^^

I smoke regular cigarettes and my favorite brand is "Kent Blue".

I believe it's the best cigarette you can find in Europe and adheres perfectly to my taste. It is slightly stronger than average and has a distinct "full flavor". It handles tough and seems more dense than the all-time classic Marlboro Lights. It feels especially good in the winter but can get a bit dry in the summer. I know that's true for all cigarettes, but this one, I found to be the most tolerant to "seasonal" smoking.

Drinks, I absolutely recommend it with: Coffee, Bourbon. Why? Strong aroma drinks with unique tastes complement the "full flavor" very well. Don't put too much sugar in your coffee and try it out with Jim Beam or Jack Daniels.

Price is as much as Marlboro pretty much everywhere in Europe, e.g. between 4 and 5 EUR in Western Europe and around 2-3 EUR in Eastern. For the frequent travelers, I can confirm that it is widely available in continental Europe.

If you live in the EU and want to change your cigarette brand I strongly recommend this brand in particular. You won't be disappointed!

You forgot to mention that we pay more taxes on cigarettes than income. Try to think of the children when you walk by a smoker and are discomforted for a few moments.

I smoke a pack of camel filters a day and god damn if it doesn't make me a happier person. Dying? Yes. Happy? Also yes.

I love hookas. Best brand of tobacco for that is starbuzz, try it out!
A few tips while preparing a water pipe:
-Don't fill the bowl too much, the tobacco mustn't reach the top.
-Make very small holes on the aluminum.
-Put the coal on the side of the bowl, not in the center.

That's damn good advice from Straught. I've had a hookah for years and the only thing I'd add to that is clean the damn thing frequently

+1 more to Straught's advice. Also, I would add that spending a little bit extra on your hookah supplies really makes a difference. Good shisha (starbuzz and JMs are my favorites) and high-quality coals (the natural kind have superior quality, at the expense of the convenience of quick-light coals) are a must.

I've heard some interesting theories about aluminum foil (shiny side down vs. up) and increased carcinogens vs. hotter temperatures, does anyone know if they have merit?

Love Cuban cigars mostly: partagas, trinidad and ramon allones.

I hate that they are more and more robustos and less long slim elegant cigars like the gran panatelas.

Shame that partagas discontinued the 'série du connaisseur' !

My favorite cigar of all of the those is the tridinad fundadores. It can give orgasm when it's a good one.

I tried some tobbaco pipes to save some money, but there is so many crappy aromatic flavors. It's like smoking hookas !

And not forget that the packing is damn hard !

Smoked my first "Real" cigar last week or so, it was nice! My parents hated the smell of the smoke though, said it smelled like horse shit compared the my pipe tobaccos, lol.

Damn these things last forever. :o .

I now understand why people tell me Cigar smoking is a really social thing, smoking this one alone for almost two hours made me feel so lonely. T.T

One of my first cigars was a La Gloria Cubana Serie R Maduro. They make great cigars.

If you want to smoke cigars but don't want to commit to a few hours, there's nothing wrong with getting a robusto that you can smoke in 45 min to an hour if you want. It's currently the most popular size for most brands.

Alternatively, Oliva came out with a line called "Nub" a couple years ago. They're only a few inches. I've only had one, but they get great reviews.

Any tinker smoker from down under knows what those are

Good way of saving abit of weed specially if your a ciggarette smoker and dont mind the little extra tobbaco in your chop though if I had decent amount of $$ id probably never spin my weed, having a ciggy after a good chop is a bliss

Dont feel I'm old enough to really smoke cigars or pipes (26) time and place for everything

As a non-smoker, I like the shock-based encouragement for people to quit/not start.
As a capitalist, I find government control imposed on a product to be bad.
So I'm in the middle here.
