But as a pseudo-fan of the original Batman franchise, I felt suckerpunched by the mainstream when his name was revealed as "Robin," and not "Dick" or "Richard." And I'm only half a Batman fan, so I can't even begin to imagine how angry the real fans must have felt T.T
and catwoman didn't have cat ears, and joker didn't have white skin and had scars, and bane didn't use chemicals, and ra's wasn't reborn with fountain of life etc... it was clear from the start that it's nolan's own version of batman
Actually, pay attention to when here goggles are up on top of her head. Curved, pointy, upward, black. Idk if this was a coincidence, but during the movie I thought for certain that her headgear was Nolan's way of having a more realistic version of, "Catwoman." He wasn't just completely forsaking the, "real," Batman, but using more realistic ways to combind comic book personas and realistic, plausible characters. Like how Bane wasn't built like a body builder, but was noticabely enormous. The joker had white makeup on his face, because (short of albinos) no person is actually, "white." As for Ra, I can't say much :/
Though, I've never read a comic in my life, so that's just my $.02.

A person willing to die for a cause is a hero. A person willing to kill for a cause is a madman

dude you never read a comic yet you debate whether the characters are faithful to their comic versions? lol you don't know ANYTHING about the original characters then, you have zero say in the matter, not hard to comprehend yes?
Joker had white skin cuz he fell in lye. he actually had to use masks/make up whenever he wanted to camouflage himself, in tdk he has normal skin. no, googles on the head and latex suit is not catwoman suit. and bane in the other versions had pipes in his head feeding him with some super chemical that made him enermous and super strong, here he was a cast out ninja who is really strong.
so basically they're all nolan's own versions

Satellite, and that was hardly HD... I really enjoyed the movie. Its hard to compare it to the first two. I've found this one more entertaining than DK but overall i felt DK was better . Bane was cool. With that airplane scene :D

That part has been haunting me for so long. I just absolutely love the amount of symbolism and figurative meanings that are in the movie.
I admit that I liked that like but I've just realised something:
I thought it was Miranda Tate who was born in the dark?
lol?

Everybody knows there's only one true Batman: George Clooney.
I was bored, so I made this little quiz. It's up to you to decide whether each of these quotes belongs to the original Batman & Robin (1997) or the remake The Dark Knight Rises (2012). Since both movies are very similar, I made it easier by providing dual-choice answers for each quotation.

1) Some random guy just arriving out of no where and saying to Bruce Wayne . . "i know you are Batman" was garbage. At least the the previous movie the accountant guy/CEO had data to back his suspicions. Some 30 second emotional speech about dead parents and anguish and anger was just dumb.
2) Bane has Batman down and out and all but dead and does not finish him off. No, he sends him to a prison with a clear escape route... Dumb. What is this 1969 Batman starring Adam West?
1)I agree with you on this point. That was abit weird when you think about it.
2)Bane said that since Bruce is not afraid of death,he would not kill him.Instead he will break his spirit and then when he is truly defeated, will permit him to die.
Tim Drake (the 3rd Robin) deduced the identity of Batman as a 9 year old child. Nolan's way of infusing his childhood into his own Robin character.

Drake figuring out Batman's identity is different to a kid looking at a smile from a billionaire and going, 'Oh, that's so fake. He must be Batman!'. That was utterly ridiculous. At the very least, Nolan should've had Blake confirm his suspicions by tricking Bruce to reveal the truth. That, at least, could make a little sense since the guy's not in a good place.

Well, I never said it was well executed. Although let's be honest, Nolan's done a pretty good job at weeding out the weird comic convoluted stuff for the most part and made his own interpretation. Personally I wasn't too bothered to just "go with it" rather than have him do it your proposed way just so it made a little more sense.
Most critics are nitpick from kids unhappy not having a second Heath Ledger imo. The Dark Knight Rise was way better than batman begin. Bane is certainly not as good as the Joker, but since the movie is not as much centered around Bane as the second was around the Joker, I think it was pretty okay. The tension throughout the whole movie was great, how the batman is pictured for most of the movie (weak in comparaison to the supremacy of Bane) was just awesome and comparing this movie to the fucking Avenger is an insult.
