I don't think there is any other gameplay footage. Maybe the site was using old tribes pictures for the article you saw them in?

no joke, im gonna say it straight up: tribes was the best FPS series of all time
no other FPS that i can think of took nearly as much skill as tribes did. if you were good enough, you could take on 5 people at a time simply because you were that much better at aiming, dodging, and general tactics/decision making. And yet at the same time, good teamwork was rewarded heavily (especially in Tribes 2)
i really cant wait to see how they make this game

I'm personally a little iffy by what they mean to be "loadout" light, chaingun + spinfusor + grenade launcher was standard. would light, chaingun + spinfusor + elf be another loadout you have to buy? ._.

yea not sure about how will the F2P stuff will go. it just seems to take away from the game. F2P really only works when it benefits the game (such as in LoL when you are able to make completely new characters all the time). Will they just be making new weapons/items all the time? not getting a good feeling from this right now. gameplay looks cool though. I just feel like they should be selling this for like 20$ base and then just sell map packs separately over time or something.

The video actually looks pretty great I think. You can tell it's pretty fast paced and it obviously looks phenomenal. The physics could play a big part though so I'll have to wait and see on that.
The F2P part seems like it would kill the competitive aspect of the game ;/ You can't play on an even field when other people are getting 20% more energy from their packs and so on. A 'base' mod would have to be made(oh wait there is no client side modding) with only the minimum weapons/loadouts available, but then that could severely limit the options in competitive play.
I don't see how this is gonna work without people getting furious over being beat because someone spent $10 on an upgrade they don't have.

I think the 20% more energy he might be referring to would be an alternate energy pack wherein instead of faster regen, you just have more energy at a burst interval when you need it.
I'm thinking that they might have an option to "unlock" the game for a regular price like 50$ and you can still customize like normal back in T1 and T2
I remember playing Tribes 2 when I was in probably 5th or 6th grade. I played that game religiously. I've never had more fun with an FPS then I have with Tribes 2. I cannot wait for this. I hope they stick with the tribes 1/2 gameplay type rather than the tribes vengeance :o

If you're getting furious over being beaten by someone who paid money for the game when you didn't, then you need to re-evaluate what makes you angry. You are playing the game for free.
