How long did it take you to finally pick a race?

I know for a lot of players, you don't just play ONE race. I mean come on, there are always times when you watch replays or get flattened when you say to yourself "man oh man, I wanna play that race a bit" and then for a few games you play them and then its back to your main race.

But for this thread (and poll, cuz I love em) I want to know how long it took you to choose the race you were going to stick with to ladder primarily. For me, I am at about 250 games between both seasons and I still have trouble being certain. I probably have about 150 games as T, 100 as Z, and then only a few as Toss, but now I've got my eye on them so who knows? I feel like it takes a LONG time to learn your comfort zone, learn the mechanics, get a good strat down, get comfortable losing with that race, and know that you will want to really focus your energy into them. And for some, they can't and they roll random, and I would like to just say how jealous I am, because damn if that doesn't take skill!

So how long did it take you to pick? Are you still picking? What would you say was the largest deciding factor in the choosing process for you? Basically, whatever comes to mind about how you chose the race you mainly ladder with.

I played Terran since the beta for 2 months. Then I switched to Zerg for 7 months. Then I switched to Protoss for a month. Still haven't chosen...

I sat down in the beta, already having watched SC2 for some time when i got my key.
I played 2 games with each race against a computer, I like the Terran add on mechanic the best. So i started playing Terran. And well...still do. Dispite Terran being the race i didn't play at all in brood war.

So i guess, six games vs a computer.

Took me a long time too. Played toss throughout beta+most of release, switched to random and played random in team games. Bounced between Zerg and Terran and then finally settled on terran.

I picked Terran because that's what the campaign was. I wasn't very good back in June and didn't wanna learn new hotkeys, units, etc.

Played protoss. Liked it. Stayed with it. Took me roughly 5-6 games in the beta to decide.

Starcraft is a mix between chess, poker and a Michael Bay movie.

when i bought the game i thought lets just pick the easiest race and without playing any games i thought the easiest was protoss according to BW so i picked it
later i realized it was terran :S but it was too late

played all races...
but i am human so i choose the human race.... i aint no traitor

just fooling around. I liked terran the most because of the marine marauder army what gived me some nice quick games with alot of excitment.
I am not the macro or sim city type of player... i like the battles the most.

In the start i felt that zerg had to win it more one more bases and i didnt liked the toss gateway army. So i picked terran.

I'm upwards of 1000 games I think, though a lot of that is casual team games, and I've played random almost the entire time. I know my best race is Toss, but I'm leaning towards Zerg. I just find I'm dissapointed when I spawn anything but Zerg, That being said I do find the variety and surprise from playing random really enjoyable. I may just keep going random forever, who knows.

I really had no idea before I started playing. In beta I've played about 3-5 games with each race, then I decided I liked Zerg the most.

I was bad at zerg in BW so i switched to zerg in this one. Than i played terran... then I went back to zerg got to platinum from gold. Went protoss got to diamond. Went back to zerg got masters. Went to protoss again got to 3.3k masters. Now im back to zerg >.> So if i could stick with a race id be happy. I usually say "whoever wins this game (in a tourny PvZ) Ill play that race.. and then never do it lol
