Nothing about a cold streak was even implied

Meh, need more LAN events to confirm.

I remember after the TSL qualification tournaments, all the complaints about thorzain, kas, hasuobs, naniwa, adelscott and cruncher. Who are these guys ? They'll be destroyed, the tournament will be terrible with these unknown noobs !
This is a good lesson toi have, earning a spot by defeating a 1024 players field is being legit good. The haters fail again.

You're blowing things way out of proportion, just like what people were doing (in the opposite direction) after IEM. TSL is pretty much the only tournament where so many top Korean players got knocked out, and most of them got beaten because they failed to adapt to playing under high latency.

On the other hand, people have to realize that winning a lot in these early stages of the game doesn't make MC "God Protoss". He isn't really a top RTS player at all, he's nowhere close. For that reason alone, I'm glad he started losing more, because there's nothing worse for an e-sport than having a player who isn't that good dominate the scene for too long.

Yep, and it's looking likely that all 4 semi finalists will be TL open winners. Boxer is the only non-TL open winner still left in the tournament, an amazing feat.

Very far from the only. Foreigner have beaten koreans left and right in a lot of tourneys in the past few weeks. Saying foreigners are dominating is wrong, but saying this only happens in TSL is wrong too. (FXOpen, StarWars...even in Coppenhagen MC wasn't the only korean iirc. Dreamhack too)

People are good and bad at certain matchups.

Look at Thorzain, he is not a better player overall, he just has an amazing TvP while MC's PvT lacks. Whereas Kas is a much better allround player, his TvP wasn't good enough to beat MC.

It"s funny how MC used to have a 95% Record against Terran when he won his first GSL.

Kas' strength is TvT, whereas it is Thorzain's weakness...

Even though it saddens me to say it, I do not believe Thorzain will come out victorious from that match

Well then that's their problem isn't it; arrogance.
When foreigners start dominating Code S/A (it WILL happen), maybe then they'll take it seriously.

Why are people like you allowed to post on TL? There has been no indication that foreigners 'WILL' dominate Code S or even A. They got some wins in the GSTL where there was no prize money, then got absolutely handled in the individual stages when money came into it.

MC lost a series, but 4 - 0'd Kas - these things happen. He can't prepare for every single match up considering he plays in so many tournaments, so stop making bs statements that aren't back up with facts.

"shouldn't" mech suck against Protoss?

Thorzain my favorite Terran by far, just for his creativity and metagame changing potential.

Considering he had weeks to prepare for Thorzain and hours for Kas, I don't see how his lack of preparation had anything to do with the results. If anything he benefited by Kas not having weeks to prepare for him.

MC didn't play like the usual MC. He didn't do any kind of 6 warpgate play at all, he only went voids in 1 game. He kept doing weird builds where he would get like every kind of tech within 10 minutes but no upgrades. It just didn't seem like his usual stuff. On the other hand, ThorZaIN did play great today. Good macro, good micro and good strategies, just overall very solid. I think though, if MC played his usual, super aggressive play I think he would've been better off.

To me it felt like after the world gsl tour when every foreigner said protoss in korea only knows how to 4gate he tried to switch it up, but since hes almost never played a normal game he forgot essential things like macro and upgrades

Yes but which other torunaments has Thorzain been playing in this time? MC's schedule is crazy, he can't possible prepare for every single match up.

To be clear here, I think Thorzain is great and deserved his win - but people seem to be forgetting just how much MC has won recently, a few losses doesn't mean that 'foreigners' are suddenly going to ship out to korea and destroy the gsl.

I guarantee MC would win if this wasn't over the battle.net. With that said, ThorZain was awesome and fantastic job to him.

well I think its more telling that MC lost games that he was actually able to prepare for.

+ Show Spoiler +

Is there still a gap? Sure, but its pretty close. GSTL WC didn't even have the best foreigners in it. Yet they still took games off them, even when money was on the line. We will never see foreigners dominate Code S/A because it makes more sense to play in home leagues that offer great prize money too. Hell thats why MC is traveling outside Korea to these competitions, to win money.

I'd agree, but I also wonder how much he actaully prepared for the games. I think his main problem at the moment is that he is arrogant - I wouldn't be suprised if he just went into a lot of the games he lost totally blind (except Ret, obviously). We've all seen what happens when he prepared for games (July).

I'm REALLY REALLY curious, how do you know this? There's no recent TvT on sc2rep.com, the last I saw was him taking out cloud in the semifinals of the qualifier.

Could it be. Could it possibly be that you're just publishing your uninformed opinions for the world to see?

I really loath when people do this. It doesn't serve any purpose whatsoever. If you know something the rest of us don't; then please do share. I'm willing to bet you don't however.
