Im sorry to ask this, maybe the answer is more obvious than I thought. English is not my first language anyway, so maybe it work in something that I dont know yet.
But Id like to ask about PBU. Technically, should it not be CBU for "Currently Banned User". PBU is mean to all users banned before, but if I understand correctly, this is not what the ban is about. PBU bans are users attampting to dodge current ban terms, Is this right? So PBU seems inaccurate.

PBU isn't necessarily someone dodging a current temp ban. It is someone who was fully banned and then made a new account.

I see. Makes sense now. Thanks micro

previously engaged neo-instigative specimen

What micronesia said. From what I gather, PBU's are kept on a very tight leash, and banned again quickly if they revert to their previous behavior.
It's a good system, imo.

Absolutely. And yet even the hardest previously engaged neo-instigative specimens are treated by mods with a measured combination of roughness and affection. The fact that these users are not immediately cast/relagated to Disneyland reveals the staff's belief that the individual in question is not beyond rehabilitation. Banlings, mods, admins, etc... are really softies at heart!

PBU = previously banned user. Not permanently banned user. But those people usually end up becoming PBUs when they come back. And they always come back.

If they come back, and don't post like shit, then moderation was successful. If they come back and are still terrible, PBU is an easy reason to drop the hammer.

So if I get permed once (for a borderline reason, not something horrible) I can come back after a few months of cooling off, and immediately send a PM to a moderator asking (Politely) for a second chance? Awesome, I don't think I could ever stand being IPBanned from TL (And I'll try not to anyway )
