It's cool to be remembered by some since I've been away for quite a while. Tell her I say hi back and thanks, but I suspect you won't have to since she'll probably just read this. I'm not sure if Ver misread my /in or if it wasn't explicitly clear enough. But if the game is full after Ace then I'll sign up as a replacement.

I probably do, but I'd have to go back and check exactly which game that was. For being a mostly passive player I've had my share of interesting moments. Also it seems I've missed a lot of drama. Mafia has never been an easy game to play.

I think the problem with balance theory here is that this format is generally largely untested, and it's also quite difficult to apply the standard game to this one. In general, I'd say to err on the side of being advantageous to town. Therefore I'd say 1KP, which will give people with roles more time to use them and also may encourage people to try to get roles as well.

Unless you want to assign check-picks to numbers 15-20 or something like that.

Unless all roles, when used, also show who used them. Which I don't think they do. The only flaw otherwise is if the buddy gets killed. And the check-picks was a joke. But at least I know you got it.

Furthermore, it seems to me like it'd be even easier for the mafia to direct the town. If the position at #8 does get revealed, now everyone has to focus on that person unless you want to lynch the hero of the town.

Caller - I dunno how you can call my arguments bad if you think GMarshal's plan is weak. And while I certainly didn't understand some of the intricacies of his plan I certainly didn't flip-flop on anything.

Case in point: I picked 7-11 which I can see from my home.

Next, he replaces both godfather roles with the recruiting mason. Caller GF is in his top 6 so that makes sense but why remove the other godfather role from the no-pick list, and what's bad about taking recruiting mason? Finally, he removed 'traitors' from the list. Why would you do this? He replaced it with the PYP3 Veteran. Why add that and not, say, hero or rock star? Why does neither no-pick list have the framer? That seems pretty anti-town to me.

I'm sure that the mafia are smart enough to grab some top slots, while at the same time randomizing the other half of their members. Why are you so sure, hmmmm? Also are you suggesting we should be looking at at least one person who picked a low first number?

The only thing that's even remotely safe to say is that mafia numbers probably wouldn't overlap, but even then that's pure WIFOM. Also, since Kurumi is the first person to get a vote, I'll say what I think of him. In TL Mafia XXXIX he got lynched day 1 because his posts were often confusing due to his lack of English skills and then even if you did figure out what he was trying to say it had little to no bearing on the game. That time, he was a townie. I do think after that experience he's smart enough to not do the same thing again, but just be aware that even though Kurumi can be confusing at times, it's not necessarily an indication that he's scum. Let's try to look for the intentions behind his posts instead. I would like to hear his thoughts now that roles have been handed out. Why did you answer a question that was asked of someone else?

Yes, I realize there's a "you" there, but a) it's relevant to how we collectively proceed and b) I don't see what you have to gain by having a specific person answer it. I think it's fairly obvious that I have suspicions of KillerSOS so I wanted him to explain himself, is all.

Therefore, if something ambiguous or anti-town is invented tonight, I'll probably push for your lynch. However, if you didn't take Inventor, it's possible you may want to state that outright. Nothing much to add to the general discussion at this point. There's only two things I'm curious about right now. First is with all the talk about checking vote lists, did someone confirm a list check role? Second is if OriginalName is going to ever speak again. I'm not going to state at this point whether or not I took Inventor. Someone might steal my patents if I am. Still, if someone does invent something I doubt it'll be as obvious as a 'town-seeking missile' or whatnot.

While my posts haven't exactly been substantial I certainly wouldn't classify them as evasive.
