| Wow, that's a lot of money. I'm excited to see the Code S and A players duke it out. I like how GOM is mixing in different tournaments like the GSTL, World Championship and now the Super Tournament. Don't get me wrong, I like the GSL seasonal tournaments, but a little variety helps, too. |

| Idra's looking really unstoppable lately but i dont think he can take the huge amount of talent/skill in this tourney with his mentality atm. |

Dont think this will be group based, since it says it was like the previous seasons before gsl code S, hence why it says ro64 is bo3 format. And to be honest this format is just so much more awesome because every single match there's the impending doom of elimination hanging over the players heads, makes it so much more awesome to watch.Last edit: 2011-05-05 00:31:17 |

What's wrong with the normal GSL format? I'm barely able to follow the format for moving between Code S and Code A, and now there's this other one-off tournament that combines them together? I just don't get why they're doing this. Is this going to replace the entire GSL format or is it a one-time thing?
It will be cool to see some matchups of the greats who are in Code A.Last edit: 2011-05-05 00:33:00 |

Would be nice for Idra to fly to Korea for this, would also be nice for some of the Koreans coming to MLG. :D

One time thing (well, once per year).
The obvious answer is that they're trying to introduce some variety to the GSL season. Same reason they organised the GSTL and the GSWC. The GSL Super Tournament and The Blizzard Cup later this year round off the usual GSL format.Last edit: 2011-05-05 00:41:03 |

I think it's just a one time (once a year?) thing. It's basically the old GSL open format but instead of a huge qaulifying tournament the top 64 of the gsl rankings are invited. Correct me if I'm wrong!
I would think the reasoning is to give the Code A players a shot at some big money without having to get through the fairly brutal path into code S, thats just my assumptions though. |

The always put a special event in between GSL Code A/S seasons, whether it is teamleagues or this thing or the blizz event later, it's just something nice to do to break from non-stop code a/s. |

I guess Tasteless wanted to announce this on SOTG but had to keep it shut until GOM officially announced it |

I don't think the 2011 MLG Columbus casters have been officially been announced, but the GTSL tournament does have an explicit break for MLG.
Regardless, nothing says if Day9 casts the GTSL that he has to cast all of it, so he just could fly back to the USA after casting the first 2 weeks. |
