Getting close to having an awesome set for my pally on RoS!
All i need now is a 3os gris helm, to put dream in, have dream in gris shield and dragon in gris armor, and some random thing in the wep.

bah a lot of Lightning immunes in Hell
even my lower resist wand doesnt help much, probably have to play some other classes since i dont feel like playing at players set at lower than 7

So is using the "steel" runeword pretty good for starting barb? How long would double steel last me?

I think you'd want to change weapons soon enough
Can't imagine any weapon type being best for barbarian overall. If you go into masteries though, try to stick to one type of weapon.
edit: I can't think of one good cookie cutter build that can do well against everything (avenger paladin excepted).
I wish I had a CD key so I could play online. I'd do a 1 skill in everything run... only put 1 skill point in any skill until I'd put one point into everything, then level 2 skill everything. That's how I played when I first got the game. It was so fun back then, but the game wasn't so easy or predictable either...Last edit: 2011-06-16 06:30:23 |

steel is good for starting out, like up to lvl 20 or so
open wounds and ias are nice though, i would however suggest a strength [amn tir] for crushing blow and life leech, or a kings grace [amn ral thul in sword/scepter] for the higher dmg
for a barb, if you dont have to worry about repair costs, go with axes, they hit faster, and dont require the dex a sword would, or the crazy str req of a 2 handed maul
but if you want a quick weapon and dont want to pay tons of gold to repair, go with sword mastery and get a phaseblade [with whatever runeword you can afford] |

Well jsut died on my first HC toon. lv60 druid with all my runes and a runeword weapon i was about to transfer to my barb along with runeword chest.
This was a big blow to my HC courage. Will I recover? |

I reccomend the Normal Cowlevel, especially for caster weapons. In higher difficulties they spawn the Exceptional/Elite versions of weapons which have the higher requirements to use.
Plus, there is just a lot of shit to kill in a real short amount of time with a level 30-40 character.

phase blades drop in hell, so you will need to wait a bit but decide what main skills you will use [fury? double throw? ww?] and build your barb around that |
