Wait--so you are assuming that because he played an 'off-race' and he beat you with all-ins that he is not the main player on the account? You are then also assuming that he is a higher level player than the account he was playing after only 14 minutes of gametime? You are then accusing him of being a pro player in disguise so he can play on both sides of the tournament?

Seems like there are a lot of holes in this thinking.

I'm not accusing him of anything, and as I've said, I'm not sure what/who he was. There is a reason I haven't mentioned his name.

If you can tell me why you would ladder as one race, then play ALL your tournament matches as another race, definitively, then I've got a bridge to sell you somewhere. Also, the only time he's used this account in the past 2 weeks is for this tournament, or custom games against a computer.

I'm not saying he broke some rule, I didn't report him. If you want to sit here and conjure up a thousand unlikely reasons why this might be, go ahead. From where I'm sitting, it looks like someone is playing on a smurf account. Can I prove that? No. Do I want to prove that beyond all doubt? NO.

I was just informing other tournament players that there are at least some players who MIGHT POSSIBLY be smurfing, so don't expect every profile to be what it says it is. This shouldn't be news to most people.

I ladder 1v1 as toss but at one point it said my most played race was random because I played so many 2v2s and 3v3s as random with friends. So don't think a guy is a certain race just because of what b.net says.

Also, I've gotten 4 FFW so far in the second round and they don't count as wins, right? Is it possible that I could get 6-7 FFWs and then lose to 1 guy in the group but maybe some other guy gets to play against players that forfeited against me and win which means that since my FFWs don't count for me I'll not advance?. I'm not saying people are avoiding me because I'm only in plat but it's frustrating thinking I might not get a fair shot or a chance to play games.

I've still had fun with the tourny and want to thank Geforce for hosting it. gj guys

This tournament has been a joke so far. 50% of the remaining players don't even play. I was supposed to play some guy yesterday so I waited on Battle.net for 30 minutes until scheduled time. Afterwards, I reported a FFW since he didn't show up at all. Then, today, I get a message from Anh that we got double forfeit losses because we both claimed the same guy. I waited 30 minutes for this person but he never showed up. Instead, he just claimed a FFW and now we are both punished? The guy hasn't even played a single game since TWO DAYS AGO. How does that make sense at all? I'm extremely sure that if you look at the check-in times, I checked-in exactly on time. What is being done to prevent people from claiming random FFWs like this?

Edit: Just spoke with the CEVO admins. They seem to have no idea what to do. Basically they admit they have a flawed system and cannot track who is actually right in this situation. So here is the trick if you don't want to play your next matches. Just go on the Geforce website, log in and check in at the scheduled match time. Don't log into Battle.net, wait 30 minutes, and then just claim a FFW. You will both get a FFL but that's better than getting an actual loss. GL Bronze players!

If someone has already played and beaten a player who I was given a FFW for, how do the scores manage to equal out a gold player that is 6-1 over 2 masters players that are 5-0 simply because we weren't scheduled up against someone who quit.

He has 2 games over everyone else in the group, so he is technically in the lead with a loss when others have yet to drop a match. Will FFWs count as wins so this will even out at the end of this round or am I possibly going to be eliminated even if I all-kill.

No. We spoke, I said to email support so we can review the logs of when players checked in. You both claimed that you both showed up and neither player joined battlenet. Both players can claim they were on battlenet and do nothing. If there is a flaw, there is no way to verify if you both are being truthful. So A double forfeit was issued cause nobody can prove they deserves the win. In the match thread, we also said if you want this reversed. Schedule and get the match played.

Tournament has been cool so far. Went 7-0 in the qualifying rounds, and I was ecstatic to find that Ahnaris casted the replays of one of my Bo3's, though I think I look really bad. Too cool to have people actually care about my stupidly horrific attempts at mech play...

I got to the next round (group play, or whatever it is) and stopped playing my games because everyone I go up against is high masters and I'm still in diamond so I figure the little free time I have is better spent stealing nerds ladder points...

How am I supposed to schedule with someone who is deliberately dodging me? I have him added on Battle.net and I haven't seen him on yet. Am I supposed to sit on Bnet 20 hours a day to wait for him to come on and schedule with him? He has no intention of playing this match, which is why he fraudulently claimed a FFW. The flaw in the system is exactly because you cannot prove who is right in this situation. This can happen again and again, and you are telling me that there's no way to prevent this from happening in the future. How is that not a flaw?

I have done nothing wrong and followed through with every step of the scheduling process. I checked in on time, signed on on Battle.net, and filed a FFW claim when my opponent did not show up. Yet, I'm the one that has to write an email to contact support on top of speaking with admins just because you guys don't have this stuff figured out.

It's really difficult to follow this outside of the pro division. What's going on with the amateur thing? I'm kinda interested but I find it so hard to find good information.

I see the website, click standings and amateur, but there's 250 groups with random standings.. wasn't the final round of amateur played on the 24th and it should be cut down drastically (top 2 of 250 groups == 500 players remaining).

Anyone have any good info?

There are actually 2 group stages before the bracketed tournament in the amateur division if I'm understanding things correctly, and we're on the second group stage. Most of the people who got through the first groups were the ones that showed up for games, as there was a huge walkover rate. So far 2/3rds of my second group stage games are walkover as well, but the games where the other person actually show up are fun.

Ya this format is alittle messed up. I've been trying to reschedule my match since the new matches were up and my opponent just refuses to reschedule. I'm 5-0 in my group and now I have to take a FFL cause one guy won't reschedule to any other day. My match is in 3 days and i've been talking to him for over 10 days.

3 People have already dropped out of my second stage group so i guess theres still a fairly high amount of people not playing. Hopefully it will be easier to follow in the next few weeks.

Man, this system is so easy to abuse with dodgers as rescheduling matches is nearly impossible knowing they can't beat the player they're up against. Or even worse, they try to claim FFW when the match rolls around.

If I've learned one thing from this, it is that these "long term" tournaments aren't for me. The actual number of matches you have to play to get anywhere is pretty ridiculous, and most players see a request for a reschedule as a free win. Add to that the dodgers, the potential "pro" smurfs and snarky "support" staff, and this has been a negative experience for me.

I guess you can't really complain about a free shot to win a decent prize, but I'll stick to the 1 day, or at most 1 week online stuff in the future.

Right now the Amateur side is in the Qualifying Phase. 256 groups of 10 players. However, there are less groups and less players per group due to so many inactive players being dropped.

You can check the Schedule page to see where everything is.

Are you posting in your match communications thread? That is the only supported way of trying to contact your opponent. If you try to contact your opponent and reschedule with him on Battlenet we have zero proof of this. That being said, if you agreed to a reschedule on Battlenet, and then he shows up at the default time and checks in on the website then he'll get a FFW.

You MUST use the match communications thread to reschedule matches. If your opponent doesn't respond to you there then you are expected to play at the predetermined default time of the match. If there was no attempt to reschedule in the match communications thread and neither player checks in at the default time on the website you will both receive a forfeit loss.

And to avoid someone who is deliberately dodging you, just be on at the default time. He certainly can't dodge you then because he'll receive a forfeit loss.
