| it seems to me that the country limitation is more related to advertisements and publicity. If they are able to market their product in a certain country, they will include it, but if not, they don't give a shite about it. India included? but not Korea? wtf! |

Some SEA countries should definitely be in there especially Singapore, Aussie or NZ. We already have NA access in the first place, so why can't we join? |

That's obviously a load of bull, because nvidia sells their stuff all over Europe and in Australia, thereby including a large list of countries not allowed to participate. It's a really lame system blocking countries from participation that don't have any laws stopping people from winning prize money with video games and the like. |

Has something to do with law, I think it's about prize money distribution or something. |

| How do you know if you are "pro" or "amateur"? For me a pro - professional is someone who in some way earn money for playing. But for the admins of this tournament a pro can just be a random high master/grandmaster player. Very poor information. |

Yes, it also makes perfect sense that Germany is allowed while Austria isn't.
To be honest, all that this country-list does is that it makes me NOT want to buy GeForce products in the near future....I mean what the? Last edit: 2011-06-03 22:47:47 |

| Tournaments that runs for this long is in my experience more annoying then fun to follow. You end up completely missing most of it, and you cant get excited abot stuff thats been played a few days ago. |

I agree with you. Just look at NASL, I don't care about that at all anymore because it is to many games everyday + GSL and other stuff like you playing yourself etc. And I like foreigner sceene very much and follow almost every event. It will be the same with this tournament I think. |

This has nothing to do with law. Finland, Denmark and Norway are included but not Sweden, despite Sweden having the same civil law system.
Judging from what the admins say, I believe Sweden will be included however. It would be a major fail if both Sweden and South Korea would be banned from participating, making this more of a joke than anything. It would be as if playing the football world cup but banning Europe and South America.Last edit: 2011-06-03 23:24:16 |

| Nice! I'd participate, perhaps advance a round or two, but I'm too old. Not that I play worse, on the contrary, my gameplay is better than ever, but my time has become too costly, even for Ukraine. lol. That's a good thing, of course, but I miss good old young days. |

As was already states, this has to do with the laws in the respective countries.
Just give them some time, and they will probably investigate to see if the law makes an application viable.
It's kind of funny how people think they are excluding certain countries on purpose....
But regarding problems with the law, why not ask other tourney - officials? They should have had the same problems and can probably elaborate on the details, which countries are viable. (for example tsl3 also had players from all over the world, that ended up winning the price money in the US) But perhaps they are just the first ones actually looking at the legal problems in this case. |
