I'm wondering if anything like this has been thought of/acted upon. I come from Red Alert 2 where "clanning" is half the fun of playing the game. Here are some ideas:
-Work as a team to win points. Each win or loss affects the total points your clan has on the clan ladder for the month. -You can play the same map over. I think clanning can be the place where players are rewarded for being really good at a certain map. Or there could be a different map pool for clanning. -You don't always have to ladder when you're feeling competitive. -1v1, 2v2, 3v3, and 4v4 clanning. -clan rivalry=FUN.

It has been discussed some times and its on Blizzard's huge TO-DO list
|
For the european scene there is the ESL Clanwar Ladder. I dunno if it is the same for the North American ESL page. Maybe you should take a look on the ESL page
|
I feel like before that even happens, Blizzard is going to have to introduce the basic clan support
|
It is on Blizzard's endless list of things that should have been in release.

I dont think so that many pro clans would use this often. They dont want to show special tactics to everyone. But it would be so much fun for sami pro teams, something like clanbase for SC. its a great idea

How about the hundred of thousands, dare I say millions, playing the game for fun that would actually find it fun to have clans with their friends and try to improve on the ladder?
|
Or you could just enter some clan leagues, such as SC2CL run by the BWCL crew?

oh they have that on broodwar over at iccup.com check it out sometime.

haha u made me chuckle.
personally i am torn on the idea tho, i think it would have both pros and cons, and cant really see it happening anytime soon if at all.

I used to be active in a small wc3 community, It was great. Playing with and against small clans really adds to the sense of rewarding as you get better, you feel it. I hope to god they add the option to show a clantagg attached to your nick. Then again, we are dealing with moneyvampire Activision who left in charge scares me more shitless then the vampire lords of oblivion. So we'll see. [Tagg1]Nick1 --- [Tagg2]Nick4 [Tagg1]Nick2 vs [Tagg2]Nick5 --> professionals or amateurs // this leads to hype!! [Tagg1]Nick3 --- [Tagg2]Nick6

For that Blizzard should add clan system, and lot more additions for the bnet 0.2 to make it work. And so far Blizz dosen't seem to be on top of that
|
Well, i think blizzard is just waiting for hots to release a clan system so more people will buy their game, this would be kinda sad and they just want to make money. But hey, i dont know weather it is this way, just speculating. I really wish they implemented clan features asap.

We do clan ladder's already in my clan VB and it's a lot of fun, so good idea.

Blizzard as ALOT of thing to do in my opinion. Sc2 was rushed like the rest of their games and therefore, we were given a shitty battle.net 2.0. I do forsee the system having all these features but it will just take way longer.
It also scares me that they will do some sort of monthly fee for stuff. Just seeing what Blizzard have been doing lately with most of their games, and actually most companies in general.

I don't agree that SC2 was rushed, the game is great! Bnet 2.0 however was rushed. I really can't understand why basic features such as clan support isn't an integral part of Bnet, I mean they even delayed SC2 a few months for this crap...

well SC2 was ready to be released even as much as a year before beta came.. they had MAJOR issues with bnet 2, a huge bug with the profiles that delayed beta at least 4-5 months. So yea, BNet 2 was a big issue, and they pushed out alot of the extra features just to get it out
