This whole G+ thing looks pretty interesting to me. I mean, you can have a webcam chat via social network with your friends and group your buds in different "circles" so that you can decide with which people you share your thoughts.
How awesome is that? It sounds way much better than facebook!
If anyone has an invite left over, I would really appreciate it.  |

| I've heard this thing has some hilarious glitches lol. Never going to use it over facebook though, too many people already using facebook and they'll never switch, they don't like change and facebook is fine for them. |

Google Plus is probably going to have heavy adoption rates as well as stickiness due to the black bar. I don't think they offer enough of a product enhancement and their differentiators from Facebook(circles, no wall) is probably what's going to keep people with Fb. Google does have deep enough pockets where they'll keep on throwing their resources and employees at this, however. And the UI is a lot of fun to use (at least for me)
This isn't like MySpace again, Fb right now is about 10x the magnitude userbase MySpace was at its peak; and this isn't even taking in account the computer science talent pool disparity.Last edit: 2011-07-05 05:54:40 |

I can live with people not switching to G+ as I didn't communicate with them the whole time while I wasn't using FB.

I assume it's going to be like all other Google products - in beta for years, then silently switch out of beta with no fanfare. |

| I used it alot since this weekend and I already have alot of friends (IRL friends), older people will switch first, teens will follow later. I can see this crushing facebook in one year. |

Remember how people used exclusively msn 2 years ago?
Now it's a big fuck fest of MSN/Skype/Facebook/Steam/Gchat and every other chat program you can think of. I have always all these things open but now with Gchat/Talk. I can have one that does it all for my personal/gaming/video chat at home/work and on mobile. How is this not revolutionary/better?

When I ear people say : "I'll just stay on facebook it's better here". I think to myself, what a ignorant/close minded person. Making an online account is 5 minutes, try it out, if you don't like ok, closed it but don't say. " Too complicated, I have MSN anyway, why would I need that." How can people be that ignorant in 2011, I don't understand. I will keep my others account for maybe a couple of month but after that it's google+ or nothing.

This is going to a long battle. Examples of MSN, Myspace, and ICQ don't apply here. None of those service had close to a billion 30-day-active accounts, emphasis on active- most services measure their userbase on # of signups.
I like G+ a lot, but it reminds me more of Twitter and something I can use for that- a broadcasting network. I still think I'll use my Fb for the time coming though. |

What I find interessting about Google+ compared to facebook, is exactly that it is not facebook. It comes from a company that has risen to the top when it comes to provide online services, and not a student project. Also the privacy is supposed to be better in many ways. I have had a facebook account for a while, but I just can not get excited about it. I guess I fell into the add everyone trap in the start, and now I have "friends" on there that isn't my friends. It is fun to see friends from school that you haven't talked to in 10-15 years, but there is a reason we did not keep in touch.
Google+ would be a fresh start, and I could be a bit more selective with who add and what I choose to share. And I can just cross my fingers that people stop posting old pictures of me at parties and tagging me so the whole world can see how drunk I was!
If anyone have a invite, I would appreciate it

I know exactly what you mean, btw tagging in Google+ doesnt work like fb. You have to accept the tag so I appears in "Your photos". So no more drunk 16 years old photos on your profile!

He want to see what is the competition is made of, pretty normal IMO.
The facebook contact export denial is hilarious
I'm not sure but I've read that if you look more than 5 profiles "about" section in a short period of time, it will block the email address.
