Here's what I don't like: 1) The font size is generally too big. Even worse, the font size is inconsistent (compare the font size of the buttons with everything else) 2) Google's logo looks like a toy with all the clashing colors. 3) Similarly, too many colors. Blue for my name and circles, green for the buttons, red as a selection indicator... 4) too much whitespace. makes it feel bigger than it needs to be.
personally, i prefer a more monochrome, minimalist style.

I'd sign up to try it out, not going to stop testing out new things just because I'm already settled in on FB. (Doesn't mean it'll be easy to convert me though!)
P.S. If anyone has invites, |

| I think one advantage Google has going for it is that it already does so many other things (email, chat, pictures, videos, documents, rss feeds, calendar, maps, android OS, etc etc) that it isn't terribly far away from exceeding Facebook functionality. Google is extremely good at hopping into a market and dominating the competition so I wouldn't be terribly surprised to see it take a significant market share before too long (though some people have so much of their lives invested in facebook pictures etc. and Facebook excels in inane things like terrible game apps, pokes, etc. so they may find it more difficult to win over the computer-illiterate crowd). |

It’s through Circles that users select and organize contacts into groups for optimal sharing. I know, I know — not more group management. But the truth is that Google has made the process as pleasant as possible. You simply select people from a list of recommended contacts (populated from your Gmail and/or Google Contacts) and drag them into Circles you designate. The UI for all of this is simple and intuitive — it’s so good, that you might even say it’s kind of fun. It beats the pants off of the method for creating a group within Facebook.
I love this idea. I love the idea of being able to share personal things with people we accept rather than diving into a swirl of pretentious narcissims by sharing everything with everyone. |

I think google is on to something here. Their vision for a digital future is captivating. I've always felt like I have two selves, my digital one and my real one. I think it's time the two coalesce.
If anyone can, please invite me . I'd love to be a part of this! Yes it will destroy Facebook and good riddance, they've lost touch.
But god damn it, Legacy of the Void is gonna be pushed back for Google+ integration. |
