GG all. Sorry I couldn't claim much credit for this town victory. I haven't read the end of the thread, but a few things that I think heavily contributed to this victory were:
Ignoring clues. They are almost always scum-favored imo, and while they are temping to use, they do more harm than good in the long run.
Lots of PM usage, ESPECIALLY IRC. The closer the conversation is to face to face, the harder it is to lie, and not get caught. It's really freaking hard to not slip up if you skype someone, and still quite hard in IM. PMs are good, but irc was amazing. The fact that so many people were in there was a huge boon for the town.
Little Spam. The thread was a very pro-town environment as far as I could see, and there was a very small amount of spam. I mean, Insane 2 had about the same number of players, and hit 200 pages by day 3 or something like that?
No "town" lists No "mafia" lists either, actually. I used to think these were good because they make people give opinions about who they think is town/mafia, which is useful later to see if they contradict themselves, but they don't help much, and end up spamming the thread with something that can be useful to the mafia. (At least when I play as scum, it's difficult to tell which players are obvious town. If that distinction became clearer, I'd have much better targets for my KP.)
I also loved all the little plans that went on behind the scenes. I'm not sure if that sort of play will work out that well in every game, but it certainly was fun in this game.
As a final note, GOOD LUCK VER@MLG. He's made it through three opponents, and now he faces Liquid_Tyler. ezpz am i rite?

Oh. One more thing. A huge failing on the mafia (rather, the II)'s part, was that only one of them died. Honestly, the best way to play traitor imo is to get yourself lynched. If the mafia kept 3KP for three days because we lynched the traitors three days in a row, we'd have been in a much worse situation.

| Ah fie. Yeah I was VT. I was expecting to get lynched any day because I made such poor choices in the game. It was my first game though. Hopefully I'll do better later. |

after directing town for so long
and killing so many scum
you lost
should've sided with scum man, you would've won so easily
as for me
i am straight up changing the way i play, i tried to stay in line with my town meta (while advancing my own goals, kinda like what rol said) but it's just destructive both to me and my team
i should make myself a post restriction in my next game lol |

Yeah, I didn't really know how to play traitor. My thought process was that without information, Traitor acts exactly as town would, therefore it's much easier to just seem as town as possible while bread-crumbing away the role. Then, Mafia could contact us near Lylo and just wreck the votes. Unfortunately, it never got to that point. :/ |
