Season 8 of Curb Your Enthusiam starts this Sunday, after a 2 year break!
Easily one of the funniest sitcoms ever made. For those who have never seen it, the show is about Larry David (co-creator of Seinfeld) as he goes about his everyday life. But the thing is he doesn't agree with societies etiquettes and rules, and always gets himself into the most socially awkward and hilarious situations.
Watch some of these videos for classic curb moments.
I like this show kind of, however it can sometimes get almost unbearable how uncomfortable you feel watching it. I don't understand why they make him so over the top annoying at times, or absurdly despicable, some scenes are completely unbelievable even for a character like him. I like it much better when he's a little more normal, yes yes I get the idea of the show/character, but it fits a lot better when he's acting just a bit more civil and believable.
I watched all 7 seasons over the last month(finished season 7 today in fact) And must say, the first couple of seasons were absolutely brilliant, but around the season 4-6 mark it started to get a bit repetitive, thought that could be due to watching so many seasons of one show that quickly. Anyway, season 7 was just ridiculously awesome, had a smile on my face from start to finish for almost all of the episodes, and the Seinfeld reunion being built in was truly awesome. CYE has quickly become one of my favourite shows ever. I didn't even realize a new season was coming so soon, so happy now!
I watched the first two seasons then stopped. I thought it was funny, but not funny enough for the $$$ investment (overseas=no mainstream television). I'll always remember this though:
"Next guy that uses my garbage can, I'm kicking his ass." "Alright, I'll tell the next guy." "You being funny?" "No! No! I'm gonna tell the next guy."
And of course Crazy-Eyes Killa. Glad Larry David is successful though because he deserves it.
Outside a theater before the film starts, Larry starts whistling a tune, and explains to Cheryl that it's a song Wagner composed for his wife. Another man waiting for the film overhears Larry whistling, and yells at Larry, pointing out that Wagner was "one of the great anti-Semites in history," and calling Larry a "self-loathing Jew." In the end, Larry gets his sweet revenge.
I got spoilt this year. I watched Seinfeld for the first time and naturally due to it being so awesome, I also watched all of Curb Your Enthusiasm as well. They both easily rank as some of my favourite shows ever.

The reason for most of this is that the show only sets scenes and gives an end point but the actual dialogue is improvised while they film it. That is why the social awkwardness comes through so clear. I love this show and Larry David! Had no idea they were coming back but now I can't wait/
