I just finished watching the first 4 episodes and i think this show is interesting. The story happens a few months after an Alien invasion. Post apocalyptic show kind of like walking dead without the zombies, or Jericho but much better. You can see they have much more budget. I would say it is closer to V.
I thought the acting was okay overall, not a big fan of the military commander, but others then that i didn't really notice bad acting. I thought the effects were great, and the aliens look amazing. Not surprising since it's 'sponsored' by Spielberg. The storyline was good, not too cheesy. Any else watching this?
I've started watching it. I think it's actually a pretty decent show with some good characters. There's a lot of mystery involved too, like why the aliens are there, how they operate, what the harnesses really do, etc. I'm interested in seeing where they go with it.
I actually think the commander is one of the more interesting characters. Super tough exterior but is starting to show more and more emotion. I think his acting is pretty decent hehe.
I watched the first two episodes and thought it was kind of meh. I'll probably rest of the season but its nothing amazing. The story and setting are alright, but I pretty much dislike all the characters, especially the main guy.
I watched the first two episodes as well and I also thought it was mediocre. The production is quite nice but I didn't really get hooked on it. Maybe I have to watch a few more so I can start rooting for someone but so far the characters weren't intriguing at all.
I watched the first three episodes and was thoroughly unimpressed. It struck me as being stupidly written.
If you think Falling Skies is good, go watch the first several episodes of Battlestar Galactica so that you can see how this type of show is properly done.

I've watched the first 4 episodes (need to see the 5th), but so far the episodes have been either meh to average. Frankly, if the effort they put into the website had been scaled into the writing/production, I would have been more impressed. My first impression of the production was not positive at all, b/c the pilot was so underwhelming and the aliens just look downright silly. The mechs remind me a bit of BSG...but again, this is just somewhere between your basic cable channel TV show and your awful SyFy show.
There are some endearing moments...but they are few and far between. For a kid on summer vacation, this is a functional time-waster...but for those of us who work for a living and have to choose between other shows?
I'd say this is a C at best...maybe even a C-.
@xDaunt - Agreed. Definitely watch BSG over Falling Skies, if you haven't seen BSG already.

What other decent show airs at the moment? Breaking bad just started but other that there isn't much.
Huge BSG fan. Must have seen all episodes 3 times just like stargate. SG1 was the best scifi show ever.

Hrmm, tough question. Other than GoT (2011), or Walking Dead (2010), I haven't been too compelled to turn on the TV - it's usually just SC2 streams. Apart from BSG, I can't say I've watched any other sci-fi show live in a long time - and this makes me very sad about the state of things.

Watched the first 4 episodes. Took me 3 to realise that Dr.Carter is the main guy, I knew him but it just didn't get to me from where, haha.
Overall the show is way to bad, story/wrighting/acting does in now way justify to watch this - USA!! USA!! USA!! UUUUUSSSSAAAAAAAAAA!!!11 - the christian way 101: how to survive alien invasion show
PS: I think Spielberg got a call from the 90s, they want their CGI back
Greek Mythology 2.0: Imagine Sisyphos as a man who wants to watch all videos on youtube... and Tityos as one who HAS to watch all of them.
Was okay from a story perspective, however, the directing and camera angles as well as the writing is terrible and makes it very hard to continue watching.
I loved the whole setup with aliens taking over the planet, but everything is just so cliché and after the first episode I've just been disappointed.

I like that description. It's all about saving the children and taking care of family, and it just gets old fast. It's like it's a family show but with aliens killing people so it doesn't make sense.
