The only thing that sucks is that Fou is going to have to give up its team jerseys and apparel, their new jerseys and their jackets are really nice.
I hope FXO comes out with some nice looking Jackets/ jerseys soon the FXO ones arent going to cut it for the korean team IMO
I hope its something they are looking into.
Not that i dont like the current fxo jerseys, but right now most teams in the GSL have multiple jerseys jackets , even pants sometimes. So i hope its something FXO is considering. |

How is this different then the mercenary buying of players? In the mercenary posistion, the players are not actually part of the team. The team paying for the mercenary's has no real interaction that we know of beyond the mercenaries flying their colors during foreign events and in return get compensation for travel and other expenses. Outside that, there is no partnership on the daily level between say oGs and sk. The mercenaries are only their to fly the flag during foreign events.
Now, in this merger of teams FXO is taking on full financial responsibility for fOu. FXBoSs is actually the boss of the team now, with choya being the managing director of the team handling daily responsibility. The two teams will moving forward have a full working partnership together including foreign players living with/playing for the former fOu division during GSTL events. This is a full partnership between teams where each will be using resources of the other to improve the quality of play for all players of both teams.
This is actually buying quality for FXO that will improve the team overall, as opposed to just renting megastar players to make it look like your team is important during foreign events while those players represent a totally different team the majority of the time. Going forwards, we will think of leenock and sC as FXO players. Is anyone REALLY going to be thinking of MC as an sk player? Nope, he's just going to be wearing their T-shirt and saying thank you for paying for my flight!
It is completely different situations and seemingly you are one of the few players to draw that conclusion.
A far better sports parable to make would be saying the New York Redbulls went out and dropped a bunch of cash to buy the Tottenham Hotspurs. They did this partnership so that Redbull players and Tottenham players could travel back and forth during training season and the interaction between the two clubs would hopefully help drive marketing and training for both clubs with obviously the Tottenham gaining international exposure in New York and Redbulls getting a far superior training system. Also in turn, Tottenham will be sporting the Redbull sponsorship on their jersey. |

Why is Oz a merc? FXO acquired him as a full time member so there is no mercing. Added to that he is trying to learn english so he can communicate better with his team. Don't see the merc there at all...
ok my bad, looks there is a diff def of a merc for starcraft than wc3. in wc3 basically any newly recruited player than left another team to join a team where he did not have close relationships with was considered a merc. korean players who joined international teams were especially considered mercs ie. oz. teams that merced were oftentimes looked upon negatively but it was the only way for non-korean teams to be competitive save for a few extremely talented european teams. but it looks like sc-mercing is diff and only where the player is on a krn team and plays for an international team in international tourneys. this seems funny to me and worse than wc3-mercing hah

If fou got a good sponsorship everybody would be happy but because its fxo , it's shit???
I don't get how this could be bad news, the koreans get money and the foreigners get better practice and living conditions and boss gets one step closer to wins because the man is a winner and he wants it!

I don't know if this is good, bad or doesn't matter. It would be nice to see FXO Korea get a salary, they play all day for Fou (fxo now) why shouldn't they? |

| Why create a team house in Malaysia when all the talent and infrastructure is in Korea? An FXO house in Korea strikes me as more logical from a business and competitive standpoint. |
