No, he became less viable after his rework because the drastic increase in turret CD plus moving of double turret to rank 3 severely made his laning significantly worse. no one bans him; most dont play him optimally. but holy hell does he stomp. most teams at 1400-1500 dont ward drag early so getting lvl 5 dragon is easy. add to that a tendency to have no map awareness. trolololo

Are games fucked up for anyone else? I was in a ranked game and froze up in the middle of a team fight like I lagged out. After a minute or so of this, I alt-f4'd out. When I logged back in I had no game to reconnect to (the standalone tool didn't work either).
After like 20 mins, I tried queuing for another game. In the ban phase, we got through 2 bans, then it froze for like 20 seconds and then put us in picks. At this point someone who had never connected DC'd (or dodged, I'm not 100% sure) and I left queue. |

Masteries? 9 0 21 or 0 9 21?
Runes? Standard full AP caster page or something else?

The gist of it:
Masteries -- 9/0/21. Heimer is a decent laner with natural hp5 from his passive. He doesn't need the defensive masteries.
Runes -- Mpen or AP/lvl reds (I've seen Dan use both, the fact that turrets don't benefit from your Mpen means there's an argument for using AP on reds rather than MPen), AP/lvl yellows/blues, AP quints.
Skill order -- WQWQWQRWWE, W>Q>R>E. W is your big poke skill so you max it first, getting double turret with rank 3 Q is superior to getting R or E in lane. You get Q level 1 only if it's someone you don't think you can beat with W/autoattack harass and need to get fast creep control against (Dan did this way back vs pre-nerf Malphite), and you get E earlier only if you need to deal with strong gankers.
Items -- DRings->DCap. Catalyst isn't a strong item to get on Heimer for laning, so likewise you don't really want Rod (natural hp5 so the healing isn't necessary, plus he gets a lot of mileage from the early AP).Last edit: 2011-08-02 16:25:21 |

| I lost my will to play Ranked games when I heard that Season 2 would be out soon, but it seems like it's just another Magma Chamber or in game replays. League and DotA play differently enough that they can't really replace each other. |
