Of course. I'd still hold at least Croatia over them as of now, but Belgium's talent pool is amazing: Coutois (20), Mignolet (23), Alderweireld (23), Verthongen (25), Vermaelen (26), Kompany (26), Fellaini (24), Witsel (23), Hazard (21), Mertens (25), Defour (24), Chadli (22), Nainggolan (24), Dembélé (24), Lukaku (19), De Bruyne (20), and the crazy thing is that I'm probably missing someone. Belgium should have a great future to look forward to. I can see them being a huge threat at the 2016 Euros (2014 might be too early).

Nainggolan pretty good holding midfielder, and ofc van buyten lots of experience.

+ Cech just signed a new 4 year deal.

Btw Italian FA withdrew Criscito from the Euros because he is under investigation for match fixing. That's quite amazing. Meanwhile, John Terry will be there.

Has Terry been doing any match fixing we don't know about?

You might want to hold your horses against Croatia. We suck atm and things don't look like they're gonna change anytime soon. Manager is leaving after EC and his heir, although "politically" excellent, is still unproven in big matches and we'll see how will team respond to him.

Honestly, i see Belgium as 1st place in that group, and it'll be fight between us and Serbs for the 2nd place (and by fight i mean probably much more than just on the field considering the history between our people).

(dat leg break)

It seems more like a lapse in judgement to me. Of course it doesn't belong on the pitch, but does he have a history of doing other stupid shit like this? Because one mistake shouldn't condemn your entire career, imo.

As far as the WC qualifiers, I didn't know that Croatia was looking that bad. I'll still hold Belgium as a wild-card. Maybe they smash the group, or they fail to get a rhythm going together in the national team.

Also, surprised to hear that Criscito was under investigation for match fixing. I guess this is from a season or two ago? Will definitely weaken Italy's chances at taking the cup.

It is the only serious case I think, yet one that will haunt him forever. While faults like that are just an utter disgrace, he served his sentence so I think he deserves a second chance.

And the belgian players have veery much talent for the moment, but they suck bigtime as a team. Hopefully a new coach can forge a team out of all those players, cause otherwise they are the underdogs for their group for certain. Looking forward to England-Belgium this weekend though, might become a nice match.

Ryan Shawcross broke Ramsey's leg. Do we see people hate on him for it (from a neutral perspective)?

My only problem is that if they are repeat offenders/are doing it on purpose, THEN they should be expelled from the game.

Fucking hope it's true, Hazard is exactly what we need, versatile and pacey just like Ramires. Plus a Belgian. Couldn't be any better for us, if his comment about joining the champions league winners is true! Plus it's like when we signed Drog, he was banging them in for Marseille then he joined us and voila! And Eden was banging them in for Lille now looks like he will join us...Fingers crossed!

Kagawa is a much much better choice for United, make it happen Ferguson.

He served an incredibly light sentence. A real sentence would be jail time. Just look how he attacked the 'ball'. What on earth was he trying to do other then cause physical damage to the defender? And when he put his hands up in the air like he can't believe hes even getting a foul call? My god, what a piece of s#$t.

These sites might be of more use than a StarCraft site, where the majority of posters look on WCIII as the dense misformed fetus produced during Blizzards latest miscarrige.

Sound like you just have something against the kid. It's an incredibly stupid challenge, but really does look like he's aiming for the ball. Kinda reminds me of the Shawcross/Ramsey incident. Jail time? No way, man. I've seen way worse tackles than that that didn't even result in a red. He got like 8 matches for his challenge, which I think was very fair, considering the situation.

In non-violent news, I guess Kagawa to United is a done deal now that Chelsea apparently has signed Hazard. Wanted to see him in an Arsenal jersey so bad.

I think between Shawcross and Witsel is quite a difference. Witsel acted like nothing happened and Shawcross went to Ramsey and tried to apologize while he left the field crying. The tackle was almost as bad as Witsel's but he showed at least a bit of sportsmanship.

While I agree expelling them from the game for a first time offense isn't the right thing, a 8 match ban and a 250e (wtf? that isn't a heavy fine, even for a school kid -_-) fine isn't right either imo.

Witsel was in fact a repeat offender in Belgium. He made the headlines in the Netherlands on three occasions and probably more than that in Belgium. Honestly eight matches is a really light punishment for someone who goes in full force with studs showing.

I've heard of his reputation once he arrived in Benfica, but i was surprised as he wasn't ever agressive towards any opponent in any match this season...

Maybe he learned his lesson, it's pretty sad that he got away with doing something like that, there should be huge fines and bans if its judged to be on purpose. 8 games is nothing for potentially ruining a career and a team's chances of surviving/ promotion. I wonder if he got full pay when banned.

He's actually next door neighbour to a colleague of mine and apparently he's quite a nice chap. He's played clean for Benfica so far.

It's not that he is aggressive, I think, it's just that he was incredibly stupid.
