i think it might be better off if he doesn't get the #7. way too much pressure. everybody says he's a good signing, but idk, i still have my reservations. dortmund and man u play differently and unless man u can get a decent holding mid, kagawa might not be that effective.
What? We have plenty of deep-lying midfielders at United. Carrick, Scholes, Anderson and Fletcher (get well soon!) all play in this area of the pitch and Paul Pogba also plays there (although that comes down to whether or not we can keep hold of him, I really hope that we do!). Phil Jones can also play in a deep-lying midfield role if so required. Our problem isn't with deep-lying midfielders. Our problem for a good number of seasons has been that we lack midfielders capable of dictating play higher up the pitch when we play 5 men in midfield (by which I mean dictating play around the edge of the opponent's penalty area). When we play with a lone striker, that striker (usually Rooney) cannot drop in to pick up the ball as often, meaning that we need a good playmaker to play behind that striker. At the moment, the only dedicated central-midfielder we have who can play in such a position is Tom Cleverly and - although I think he is going to be an amazing player (just see how dangerous he was alongside Anderson at the start of the season) - he is injured far too often for my liking. I guess Young and Park can also play behind a lone striker in a similar manner, but both are more frequently utilised on the wing by SAF. This leaves an obvious position for Kagawa to take up should we want to play this kind of formation more frequently (and we definitely need to start using it more in Europe/big games). The problem I have is that, although Kagawa will hopefully bring a new dimension to our play when we attempt to play with 5 in the midfield... De Gea Smalling - Ferdinand - Vidic - Evra Carrick - Fletcher Valencia - Kagawa - Young Rooney/Welbeck/Hernandez ... I'm not sure we need him for the 4-4-2 formation we frequently use against "lesser" opposition as that does not require a creative midfielder high up the pitch. This is for two reasons a) The wingers can be relied on more heavily as they have more targets to hit in the box b) Having two strikers allows one of them to drop deep to pick up the ball (usually Rooney), and they will take up the position Kagawa would take in the above formation when doing so. De Gea Smalling - Ferdinand - Vidic - Evra Valencia - Carrick - Fletcher - Young Rooney - Hernandez/Welbeck Anyway, that's my view. I've not seen how Kagawa plays at Dortmund or what formation they like to play, so I could be wrong about his utility in a 4-4-2 formation.
My fear is that kagawa will be just another second striker at man u. there's already rooney, chicharito, welbeck, and others to play the forward position. i just felt like they should have gotten a quality central mid, which kagawa doesn't play much of. and those midfielders at man u right now aren't bad, but they're not great either |

It's fine, their owner can just "sponsor" their stadium through another company for a ridiculous amount of money *cough*ManCity*cough*Last edit: 2012-06-07 22:31:22 |

Yes but UEFA haven't allowed that as of yet, there "looking" into it the last i heard. As they spotted thats what Man City where trying or planning to do. So that will bite them on the ass. |

whats with all those kagawa only being a 2nd striker comments?
He almost only plays midfield in Japan and dominantly too. He is a midfielder who just likes to go into the box a lot.
He has also had a lot of touches in Dortmund. He always fed Grosskreutz and Kuba a lot of passes from the middle.Last edit: 2012-06-07 22:37:32 |

I'm very confident about that, they have a very strict salary policy, for exemple they pay Thiago Motta for less than what he had at Inter, every transferts we did was at the right price, we had Menez for 8M, T.Motta for 11 (top5 MD in the world in my opinion), the real success is that those guys are richer than anyone but they are very smart too and they don't spend money irationaly (like mancity for exemple).
This season we were the third budget in Ligue1 after Lyon and Marseille and our higher salary was 4M, i think with the team we have now we could compete with the bests in europe with half there budget.
So yes i'm proud that our club is rich but even prouder because our dirigents are very smart an know what they're doing Last edit: 2012-06-08 01:17:24 |

how would chelsea even be able to afford to build a 60000 capacity stadium, paying ridiculously high salary and transfer fee for hazard and other players for instance and still meet FFP regulations.Last edit: 2012-06-08 01:37:30 |

Thats wrong answer too i beleive What i read about the way the FFP works is it doesnt count owners FUNDING stadiums themselves. IE the way Chelsea is doing it, is a rich Saudi Sheikh is paying for our 1billion (reporting in paper that much) stadium and the club will not spend any money and thus doesnt effect ones FFP records |

Uhh yeahhh,,, thats the same as all the other sugar daddies. Your not atleast in spirit supposed to be able to get around it by putting it on the books of someone else. Thats what Inter and Milan have been doing for a decade with Morratti and Burlisconi. Chelsea and City didnt do it because well FUCK FFP. Up until last year anyway, they didnt spend much this previous season but theyre still well in the red.
PSG is alot moro austere in the way they are spending money but its still not money they have. Last edit: 2012-06-08 13:51:06 |

| New Caledonia just defeated New Zealand in the OFC Nations Cup. So we will have Tahiti or New Caledonia, a French overseas territory (probably not the formally correct term), at the 2013 Confed Cup. I bet 95% of people would hear of New Caledonia for the first time if they make it. |
