No he was really injured Akinfeev will probably play today atleast that's what the Dutch commentator said.

I dont know what his reasoning behind the Australia send off was (Retardation?) And also the penalty we were awarded was also bizzare (Also the Japan send off was stupid, gets carded for running into Brosque, really??)

What's your opinion on the free kick in extra time though?

Its extra time though, not dead time. If he wanted he could've taken 20 minutes too setup the ball, get his players exactly where he wanted them too take the kick (It would never go that way, but he was taking a very long time) and they were already an extra minute over anyway.

Man City 2 is disgusting. Didn't you backed your investor for being reasonable ?

And now i hear a 50€ mil. bid for Thiago Silva and 40€ mil. bid for Modric ? To me those clubs are the reason for inflated transfer tags in current football.

Can only hope for the financial fairplay rule to take effective measure against shit like that.
Would mean that clubs that actually EARNED their money will have a chance again.

Akinfeev replaced Malafeev back in the day when he first broke out, but since he's spent so much of the season injured Malafeev has become the number one again. Now that Akinfeev is kinda back, but still a bit iffy, Malafeev looks to stay as umber one for the tournament. I mean, how many times do coaches replace their keeper, especially if they are doing a decent job? I doubt Akinfeev will play, which sucks because I have him on my team too

How can you be happy about someone turning a club with that much history into a soulless investment? I'd prefer my club playing in the lowest of leagues instead of selling out to become some random sheikh toy. It is indeed disgusting and is hurting football!

It was only a matter of time, smart business in the end only gets you a team like the one Wenger makes and we all know those dont win trophies.

Although why anyone would be "disgusted" by it is beyond me. Those players arent leaving those clubs for lesser fees. The market is just really inflated. Paris has money they want to spend it let them spend it.

The inflated transfer tags started a while ago, but yes keeping the trend going doesnt help.

The thing is Man City, Chelsea and Malaga (which is a mini Man City of sorts) all play in top leagues.

PSG play in the 5th best league in the world and the biggest stars will in most cases (Thiago Silva exempting) be unwilling to go there no matter the money. Now obviously it helps that A) France produces a lot of great players they will essentially now have a monopoly on and B) Paris is a beautiful and desirable city far more so than Manchester is.

But I still don't see the likes of Gotze, Falcao, Modric and the other best players in the world not already playing for a big club moving to play for PSG over Barcelona, Real, Man Utd, Man City or Chelsea.

PSG will destroy the French league from now until the money runs out of that I have no doubt, but they'll always be handicapped by the inferior league they play in. Which is why to me they're a really odd investment over the likes of Milan/Inter/Juventus/Roma/Lazio/Arsenal/Tottenham who would surely all have been better buys for the owners.

Man Utd live within their means and are the most successful English club of the modern era and have made 3 Champions League finals in the last five years.

If teams weren't able to be bought in the first place, or if there would be at least some maximum amount of money that each team is allowed to spend per year, smart business can indeed win trophies.
I'm personally not "disgusted" with the players, but the clubs selling out. International football is starting to become a playing field for billionaires. How anyone can be a fan of these clubs is beyond me.

I'd say its the best outside the big 3.

Doesnt really matter, Champions league football and dominating a league is attractive enough in itself for many players. and frankly its not even agiven that the French league will be so easy to dominate and its not as easy to win as it might seem.

They might not be able to attract younger players like a Gotze but people like Modric are certainly on the cards, hes played in England long enough to know how it evens out, at PSG he gets to be hot shit that probably wont be the case at a Chelsea or a City. These things matter aswell.

Infact if anything attracting players with experience in the big 3 leagues will probably be the easiest thing for them.

Additionally this Al-Khelaifi guy doesnt seem to be like the other Sheikhs, he actually has a sporting/business brain. I dont know of a single Arab royal who would willingly learn anything let alone French so he can run his team better.

Hes put a spending cap for the summer, gracious as it is its still there and their looking at 3 or 4 players to bolster. Its not nearly Man City level spending, grabbing at everything you can get, atleast thats what they claim is the plan. Other than that they want to invest in youth programs, etc etc the whole shabang, so yea grabbing all the french talent that comes along is also on the cards

What transpires is ofcourse a different story. But its certainly smarter than what any of the teams in the big leagues are doing. And football players with some exceptions are generally smart. They can identify good projects when they see them and if PSG's is good playing in lique 1 is probably not going to be a concern.

Even the Likes of Barca, Real. United and Chelsea hell even Liverpool have spent that kind of money in recent years. Its nothing absurd as of yet for them to buy 3-4 players at hefty tags.

I am no fan of these clubs but its become the nature of the game now. There is no cap system in football and who are we to say what teams can do and cant ? What gives me or you the right ? The fact that clubs we support dont have money ? What if a Shiekh came along and bolstered the club you supported ? Not that its going to happen but as ambivalent as you might appear theres no way you wont be happy if it brings success. No way.

I dont like it either I think its bad for the sport aswell, also you have to realise its not like they just "buy" the clubs. Theres a process involved and just like any business and its associated rulings teams can be taken over. No team if its public can "not" be bought wether people like the new owners or not. Its a business just like anything else. And its to large and vast to impress things like spending caps. This isnt the NBA, its WORLD football.

UEFA is trying to do its bit but really theres a myriad of ways to get around it still so it wont be effective anytime soon.
