This patch is a completely different game. I have tried it a bit with a marauder.
The necromancers are extremely nasty and with enfeeble and the ability to raise undeads, you truely have to focus them down at the cost of anything... I lacked a way to remove curses a bit there and they seem to be able to reanimate the enemies - that are hard on their own - constantly. Ouch!
Some of the new bosses are extremely hard in the beginning since you lack the resistance to really fight them. That totem boss on the Ledge is truely a challenge for a melee character and you probably should take specific skills to be able to fight it!
All in all I love the new game. The item-progression seems a lot improved, the monsters are hugely improved visually as well as ai/ability-wise and the sale-value of unidentified items is improved which is a pretty smart move.
The totems are impossible to live without. Traps are looking excellent. The graphic has improved a lot throughout.
I still need to look at Act 2 and how it works. Also, I need to look at a few other additions, but if you are in doubt about the game there are lots of reasons to be excited about the beta weekend! |

| Well fuck... I keep dying in this new patch, I can't get anywhere really. What are some builds you all have been successful with? I'm gonna give a tanky-Templar a try. Also I really love the way the new Fetid Pool looks. |

| Can someone explain to me the benefit of choosing a hybrid stat class? I played the open beta in March but just didn't see the point of splitting points into Dex/Str when you could've chosen an all Str character |

Been playing HC (No deaths yet, but a few close calls) with an Iron Grip/Blood Magic(Wait on the blood magic til 25-30 unless you get lucky with good life leech gear) Bow Ranger, pretty standard set up, PA with pierce + extra projectiles, Frenzy, Blood Rage, Chains, zombie/skele tanks (using a onyx neck to cover the extra intel needs). Still trying out random totems/traps haven't settled for any yet. |

I died to Hailrake once and in the Fetid Pool fighting skeleton Rhoas twice. Those damn things just hit way to hard! Gonna have to play it a ton safer than what I'm used to in these types of games. Usually its about getting as much DPS as possible and some resists but now I feel defense is the top priority.
Glad to hear you are doing well NotSorry. I might have to give that build a try but I always get worried when having Blood Magic. Do you really recommend that passive? I haven't tried a range character yet as I love my melees I also love using my BowRauder haven't done it this patch although. |
