The Texas e-Sports Association is pleased to announce the 'Play with the Pros' Charity Event. The event will consist of 30 hours of consecutive streaming where we will be joined by a number of well-known pro players and StarCraft personalities. The goal of the event is to have a great time giving the community the rare opportunity to interact with well-known players while raising money for an excellent cause.

End: Sunday 11:00pm CST

The Event
During the event, we will host different players for a few hours at a time. While a player is on the stream, they will participate in a wide variety of activities including:
- 'Play the Pro' matches with stream viewiers (1v1, 2v2, 4v1, FFAs, etc)
- 'Play the Strat' (Stream audience suggests strat to use against stream viewer)
- Team Battles (team battles that pit professional teams against each other)
- 'Mono-Battles with stream viewers
- Custom games with stream viewers (user-made maps)
- Show-matches between players (+ friendly banter in Skype!)
- Interviews using questions from Stream Audience and this thread
Thus far, the following players have confirmed attendance in the event.

In addition, we are anticipating the attendance of 5-10 other players, pending scheduling confirmations. If you are a player that would like to join the cause, please PM me at your earliest convenience! An official schedule will be released on Friday once we have given time for anyone who wishes to join. (Each player's time on the stream will be catered to their game preferences.)
The Charity
Since this is a community-focused event, the community will decide the chairty all revenue will go to! The following poll will be open until the event comes to a conclusion Sunday evening.

Donations
We encourage donations to any of the above charities. Alternatively, TeSPA is offering organization 2011-2012 T-shirts to anyone with a $20 dollar donation. If you would like a T-shirt, the cost (about $6) of the shirt will come out of the donation, but we will send all proceeds to the winning charity at the conclusion of the event. Glad to hear it! We have a PayPal donate button set up on our website here if you want to submit your donation through us. There is a 'Donate' button strictly for donations of any amount. In addition, we have a 'Buy' button, where you can donate $20 for one of our organization new T-shirts once they are designed and released. With the 'buy' option, we will subtract the cost for the shirt (about $6) and shipping and donate the rest. The choice is yours! With any donation, you'll get a shout out on stream.
Be sure to submit interview questions for your favorite players using this form.

To raise the most money you should add some benefits like if you give $50 you can play X games with the pros if you give $100 you can play Y games or something along those lines.

Holy shit I really need to remember to keep going to these TeSPA meetings back at UT. I went to MLG Dallas 2010 with you guys and since then I've been too busy to really go. 
Being able to sit around and chat with Day9 and djWHEAT for half an hour should have reinvigorated my interest in the game though.  |

For reference, we are broadcasting from the University of Texas campus inside the ACA building. Since this is a community-driven event, all are welcome to come say hello or play in the room (for charity!).
Of course, we will be broadcasting the stream for the duration of the marathon online too. We will begin at Saturday 8:00pm CST and run through Sunday 11:00pm CST. |
