There was a problem with spammers for a short period and there needs to be mods available to get rid of them should they appear again for whatever reason

Scint, pettter and Wikt ontop of the currently existing mods should cover pretty much any part of the day.

Secondly: Yeah, no. Production's presumably near done, and Hasbro is not going to cancel a series as popular as FiM before it hits the minimum number of episodes for syndication. They have jack shit to gain and a lot to lose.

Just start with episode one. I don't see why you shouldn't watch the episodes in order. If the impression of the first few eps deters you from watching the rest thats fine. If it leaves you with enough curiosity to watch another ep then you'll probably like this series.

What he said. The 2-part premiere is really good, and introduces the characters pretty well. Anyone telling you to watch a specific episode just wants you to watch one featuring their favorite character. So watch episode 1-2. There is no meta in this post. At all.

Or he can watch the Season 2 finale. Cuz that one was just fantastic.

Although I suggest something from the middle of the seasons to get a feel for what the show is usually like and really about.
