Thanks for the review. Whats wrong with the stabilisers on the K60?

From what I've gathered after posting on Corsair's forums about it, they aren't the same quality as the ones in Filco and what not. I think they are just plastic, after taking off the shift key and messing with them. It really messes with how the shift key feels, it's not as responsive as all the other keys to the point that it almost feels like a mushy membrane key you are pushing.

So I just got a Black Widow Ultimate after like six years of using a $15 logitech keyboard and so far I find it....awkward, to say the least. In a lot of the reviews I read, people complained about the noise, but that's the least of my concerns so far. Some of the keys tend to get stuck, which is obviously annoying. My left hand always seems to be placed one set of keys further to the left than I realize, so I end up pressing 1 instead of 2, for example. I'm pretty sure this is because the placement of the macro keys is fooling my brain into thinking that they're shift, tab, ctrl, etc. Using the 'a' key is a little awkward for me because my old keyboard had an undercut on the right side of the caps lock key, so there was a decently sized space between caps lock and 'a', so it feels weird not having that. My final complaint is that the keys seem to come up a little bit slowly after being pressed, so I can't really spam keys the way I could on my old keyboard.

Overall, a lot of my complaints are probably just based on my own personal preference from using the same membrane keyboard for so long, so other people might not have the same problems. For the $150 I paid for this, I'm certainly not going to just give up on it after an hour, but this is going to be VERY hard to get used to.

Edit: Oh yeah, also the backlighting feels nauseating to look at for me

rip the macro keys out if you dont use them. if you ever decide to use them you can put them back in again. also if you dont like the lighting AND the macro keys. why didnt you get a filco, it costs about the same yet is better in quality and has nkr. the only upside to a bw ultimate ARE the macrokeys and backlighting

Yeah that's a common problem with Razer keyboards, they have really bad build quality so you're going to have keys that are stuck etc. However it could also be because of how the blue switches work as they supposedly have a slight delay, making doubletapping and such more difficult. In my opinion Blue switches are by far the absolute worst for playing games so I'm not sure why you decided to go for those, especially coupled with the worst gaming keyboard manufacturer in industry. And yeah the macro keys are imo poorly placed as well.

(Personal recommendation as always with the black widow is to try to return it, get your money back, and get something good instead, but you could try sending it back so they could see if there's something actually wrong with it)

Nope. It's all the same keyboard (Majestouch 2), whether Ninja (side printed keys), Otaku (blank keys), or regular.

Thanks a lot man, getting brown Majestouch 2.

The keys shouldn't get stuck, and they should be coming up just as quick as any other keyboard ever (ie way quicker than your fingers).

So, I think there is something wrong with your keyboard. You should return it and get something other than a Blackwidow.

With the layout, you will get used to that. Every mech board has basically the same layout.

All three are ok. Do you want light or heavy switches?

7g is abit expensive over the 6gv2 just for audio/usb ports and a wrist rest.

K90 looks freaking awesome and has backlighting, but some of the keys (F keys and a couple more) arent mechanical, it is also huge.

6gv2 is good and probably quite abit cheaper than the other two, but has less features.

I currently own a Blackwidow and I have to say that it's fine so far, but since people say that its build quality isn't the best around, I would like to try another mechanical keyboard so that I can compare (and also use it with my 2nd PC). So, I found a Cherry G80-3000 which is kinda cheap (even cheaper than the blackwidow) and nice. How is their build quality compared to Blackwidows? Anyone has one for like 5+ years to confirm if it is sturdy or not? Thanks in advance for the answers.

I would pick the 6gv2 if cost is a main concern and if you do not care too much about features. The 6gv2 has cherry black keys, which people consider it the "best" for gaming. I got a chance to try it out at a local store and I find the keys a little hard when pressing them compared to my Rosewill cherry blue keyboard. My keyboard's keys are light. so pressing them is very easy and fast. I also think that cherry blues are the best for typing and I love it for gaming too. If you can, I would try to find a keyboard that uses cherry brown, which are similar to cherry blue, but not as noisy.

all mechanical keyboards will last you 5+ years. hell membrane keyboards will last that long. the g80-3000 does not have spectacular build quality. you probably wouldnt notice the difference for that of a black widow. but what do u expect from a keyboard that is cheaper.

Go with the Corsair K90 (or K60 if you don't need macro keys). I recently bought a K60 and compared it with a 6Gv2 to try out mx reds vs blacks, and I found the K60 way more enjoyable to type on. Blacks will fatigue your hand quickly, and I wouldn't recommend it for typing essays. The mx reds are very light and feel like you're typing on air. The membrane keys might peeve you for a while (on the F keys and six pack), but you will get over it when you realize you don't use them that often. Ultimately, I suppose it comes down to personal preference if you wan't light keys vs. stiff keys.

just recieved this keyboard yesterday and only just now got the chance to use it now. All i can say is the difference is amazing. I doubt its gonna make me a better player, but the sound feel and look is just so much better. Theres only 2 slight downfalls: The paint on the keys is a bit much, you can feel the letters a bit too much and it feels really cheap, especially on the enter key. And the second one is my gf really hates the sound but i dont care lmao

id recommend it for anyone looking for a cheap mechanical keyboard

PCHOME $60 shipped green alps.

ordered one myself from http://tigerimports.net/sunshop/index.php?l=product_detail&p=11531

Should I get this keyboard as my first mechanical keyboard? I do a fair amount of sc2(about 1-4 hours) and 3-4 hours of typing per day.
