If you are talking about the +2-3 poison damage stats that appear on weapons, I am pretty sure they are included in the dps of the weapon. You can add a gem to a weapon and you will notice that the dps will change.
Also from what I can tell, items that add straight +damage add it before all modifiers. I have some level 11 neck i'm using at level 30 because +2-4 damage it gives adds like 35 dps. It seems like a really good stat. |

| If a friend has only reached act 1 normal and I'm in act 2 normal and they joined my current quest line. And then we beat normal. Would the friend unlock nightmare or would they have to go back and do the quests they skipped in act 1? |

You can search for +minimum damage.
Are certain enemies always weaker to certain types of damage? e.g. do all monsters have 5% resistance to holy or something, but undeads do not? Or do they take bonus damage? |

| Why are there items that you have to sit and explicitly identify? Is it a relic from diablo 2 or something? What reason could there be for not just revealing the stats when you pick it up? |

Because there are two stages to the excitement of finding a rare/unique: realizing you found one, and then finding out if it's any good. Probably they didn't want to collapse those two and reduce the net excitement of finding something cool. |

You will get plus magic find if your follower has it but with as discount percentage, not sure how much though.
Its up too you if you want magic find or not, I don't bother with it much in NW though since the time you need to farm is end of Hell and begin of Inferno. |
