Arena?
Sounds pretty crappy... what happened to good old free for all pvp style from d2lod? And is it 100% sure that you can't pk in normal games? |

How long does it take to get to level 10, how much harder is it to level from 10-13 than from 1-3 etc. ?? |

As far as I know (Not 100%, no Beta access) there is no way to go hostile in a normal public game. Only PvP planned is in designated arena area's.
Might still be possible to lure monster to lower level characters, or sending swarmed TP's or something. But that's just grieving... |

There are no TPs, you only have the option of teleporting to your party member's location. So you would have to be standing in the middle of a lot of mobs and have someone teleport there |

| Sending swarmed TP is impossible because TP are now personal and can be used only be the one who made it. |

I've been watching a few D3 streams, and every single item I've seen drop so far has been pre-identified (including magic items), yet I've also seen Scrolls of Identify fall. What's the point of this? Are there other items in the beta that need to be identified? Will magic items need to be identified when D3 actually come out (like in D2)? Is there an NPC you can go to who will identify your items for free (like Deckard Cain in D2)?
Thanks in advance |

Magic items don't need identified, but rare and legendaries do. I doubt this will change upon retail.
There is no NPC character to identify items (at least not in the first third of Act I). |

Can someone look at the Sentry Turret for DH's and tell me if you think you can have only 1 at a time? I wanted to make a mass turret build but it looks like you might not be able too |

It takes aproximatly 2 to 3H aproximativly. We don't know how hard it is for 10-13, the last area of the beta is level 8-9 it takes a long time to level from 10 to 13 there... 1 to 3 is fast though.. 1 to 3 is definetly easier but the overall beta is easy anyway, just the occasional thing that hits hard or if you have a poor equipment.
I'm not sure what you want to know exactly. |

Blizzard and the majority of players (not all obviously hey!) thought PvP in D2 was pretty poor and PKing badly geared or low levels was boring. But let's not start the argument of this being right or wrong it's fruitless.
Now yes you will be able to Arena in teams and maybe a duel system. Blizzard said though that they wont balance the game for pvp. |

Well the main reason i kept playing d2lod was low lvl pking... running after lvl 12-20's with a lvl 9 assassin was awesome :D.
I just think hardcore might get a bit boring without any hostile options... unless they get a 1v1 duel arena where you actually die and get the other guy his gear/loot?Last edit: 2011-09-18 03:09:41 |

I'll be very sad if they don't add in pking.
Probably 80% of the fun when playing with my brother was trying to get each other in awesome ways.
I remember in D1, with my wizard, we hit a dead end, and I cast successive fire walls to push him into the end and then roasted him alive. Absolutely priceless. |

They already stated that they wont add PKing. They didn't like that system and moreover most casuals get butthurt when stuff like that happens. Blizz caters to the casuals a lot because they are the majority.

For eSports, they specifically said they were NOT going to support it as being an eSports title. They said if a skill was imbalanced for PvP but balancing it would hurt PvE, it would be kept as is. As for 2, no idea really. Also, something they will probably tweak a bit during the first weeks/months of play. For example gems have 14 levels now, but only drop to level 5. This means you would need 19000 level 5 gems of the same type for 1 level 14 gem. They said they might tweak the formulas a bit depending on how it goes.
they balance wow for pve/pvp and that game has way more classes/skills/whatever... doesn't make sense |

That's subjective, to call people casuals because they don't enjoy PK is a bold statement which is actually far from the truth. Call them "chicken" if you want, the fact is they just don't like it... there is not much correlation between enjoying PK and the time you spend in the game or your skill.
If you enjoy PvP there still is the arena. If you won't use it or think it's lame hey that's a full circle now you're the one that doesn't like something or is afraid of it
Me I don't care, never played public games just with friends and the occasional PK was fine among us. I'm ok with their decision.Last edit: 2011-09-18 05:50:04 |

thats maybe the biggestm gripe for me about d3. i dont care much for seperate arena crap with different effects and whatever. i just want some oldschool real pk.
and lets be honest. in the end its a "lets avoid casual QQ" design decision. Last edit: 2011-09-18 09:14:51 |
