dont wanna sound negative, but think you should explain a bit more what this / the semi-open tournaments are for/what it has to do with the league... and why the maps

Really great idea with TPW maps... finally something new.
|
Using the TPW maps is either an inspired move for helping the growth of the SCII scene, or else really really dumb. I'm not sure which yet at this point. Regardless, I'll be tuning in to watch these games.
|
Any way we could get links to each of the maps? I know it would take some work, but it's better for the OP to do it than everybody else, any time they want to see it.
|
uh so if i don't understand it totally wrong, if you want to qualify for NASL season 3 you gotta study 9 new maps which are not really used anywhere else? That seems really drastic. I am all for new maps especially community made one but surely this is a bit much.
I hope I just understood this wrong.

Sick move using new maps.
As a spectator, I love it.

Ok, as well, NASL needs to get these maps on every server ASAP. Some maps aren't on all the severs yet, for example Concrete Dreams is only on EU. And it is only two weeks until the tournament begins.
|
what are u doing nasl, are u just trolling the whole starcraft community ? nhf

Thanks for that, I'll pm TPW and see that they get added on all the maps!
|
Woah... I'm not sure about having an entirely new map pool for qualifiers that you have to pay to enter. But this is good news for TPW!
|
Added links to images of all the maps in the OP!
|
We are currently working on it to get all the maps onto US servers, they will all be there shortly. For example Concrete Dreams is currently being uploaded, we wanted to wait for version 1.2 to be finished. As we are mainly an EU map team, it is sometimes a bit hard on our only American member to upload every map we think is needed.
A list of TL threads or overview images of the maps:
EDIT: Almost redundant now that images has been posted, but if you have concerns or feedback about a particular map, please post in the map thread and we will try to address it.

*fails miserably at containing excitement* I AM VERY HAPPY YOU ARE CHOOSING TO USE (THESE) COMMUNITY-MADE MAPS!!!
I am absolutely positive that as a whole this was a wise move. While not flawless, these are some of the best maps the foreigner community has come up with in the past few months. I'm actually not a fan of one of them in particular (don't wanna name a name tho ^^):X but for the most part I am sure that at least a few of these maps will become highly regarded in the not-so-distant future.

Ramps galore, will be fun to see how that will be used in the games. 1.4 might change maps with a lot of ramps quite a lot (I have no clue)? The maps seem fine but the fact that no one will have played them a lot will probably make 99% of the games super standard...
|
All maps have now been uploaded to US servers.
We hope that you will enjoy the maps!

Great to see some fresh maps! But I must ask, I found one of them really strange. TPW Lunar Station seem to have an extremely hard nat to defend. Its like both the 2nd and the 3d base are equally hard to take?
|
I feel like some of the maps might have issues with some positions being kinda close and easily seigeable naturals. However, its not like the blizzard maps are perfect by any means, and as a spectator I really do look forward to seeing games on these new maps.
