You are aware that Grubby hasn't won a big tournament since WC3 right?

Are you aware that he started half a year later with sc2 then most of his concurents, that he did won "big" tournaments with top (european) players attending, that he recently finished 2nd @ IesF en 4th @ ESWC.

But of course Grubby isn't on the same level as Nestea & MVP. but what this guys say:

He got the POTENTIONAL, and he is right. Grubby is perhaps together with Stephano the player with the most potentional of all players. Of course I am biased cause I am dutch and a former WC3 player. But everyone has to admit that the progress Grubby shows recently is incredible.

Actually, the progress he has made hasn't been impressive at all. People have told us to give him three months basically every three months. The argument that he started late has been old for a while now.

What are you talking about he change to sc2 in January. He was 6months behind everyone els and now he got 4th place at ESWC world cup one of the biggest lans.

His progress has been very impressive and if he keeps practising hard im sure he will be up there.

Yeah, you would think a year later it wouldn't matter that much. Not everyone seems to have this perpetual three month barrier stopping them from success despite switching late. But then again, you do have a point. The player with the highest potential beats a single good player in the entire tournament and loses to the next. Very impressive indeed.

Oh I forgot, we also had the chance that many players signed our autographs book

If you want to check this out, it's also on Facebook.

We have players like Stephano, MarineKing, MC, Idra, Mana, Strelok, Grubby etc ...

Oh come on... this is exactly the kind of ridiculous statements I'm talking about. GRUBBY would be on the same level as NesTea and MVP?!?!................. Really??

If all players were able to play on one big server with same latency, we'd have a top 100 dominated by at least 80% koreans, and a top 10 with at most 2 foreigners. And those would probably be Huk and maybe Nerchio, or someone like Kas, only because of the incredible amount of games they play, not because of real skill.

And EVEN if there were a good amount of foreigners there it would mean next to nothing because most top pros don't ladder that much.

And you base your assumptions on what?

I'll repeat it for you, since you didn't get my point (or didn't read it all):
...If all players in the entire world were able to play on ONE SERVER without big latency problems, and all players would practice for one year in equal conditions (food, time, sleep etc)...
in short: one server, same conditions, one year of practice.

About Grubby:
He was the Flash of WC3... you think he's lacking the skill to become one of the best in SC2?
Before he went to Korea for 1 month, he was medicore, finishing about 10th average in EU tourneys. After only 1 month of Korean training he improved drastically!

I just see great potential in those players, that might give them GSL championship one day.

The fun part about this statement is that I could name only about 4-5 Koreans able to be on the same lvl as MVP or Nestea, as well. :lol

Of course everybody and their mom knows that not everybody learns the same way and that some people might benefit from less rather than more and vice versa due to various reasons (such as mental stability). So what you're suggesting is nonsensical.

And no, he wasn't. He can't have been the Flash of WC3 if there's equally vocal group of people claiming somebody else was the Flash of WC3 (Moon). You people are just confused as to what Flash really is. But I'll help you. Flash is God. Flash is the best RTS player ever.

Well, that's because you're coming from a BW background.

Each representative of his respective scene will be seen as god and the best player ever by the base.

WC3 people have respect for Moon/Grubby
BW players have respect for Flash
DoWII players have respect for Select
(and for every other genre FPS/sports/racing it's the same)

Elevating one RTS scene above the other is nonsensical. It's like choosing the most sucessful 100m sprinter above the most successful 800m runner. They are different disciplines.

Yes, because Select and DoW are comparable to Flash and BW. I trust that you see it yourself how absurd that is. Flash is clearly dominant in the most competetive esports scene in the world. This is why he is better than the rest.

Everybody and their mom also want to go to the best university, because they know that quality of learning is important. You have best proffesors, best equipment etc.
Korea is Harvard as far as quality of learning SC2 goes.
Best practice partners, best ladder, best coaches etc.

Give all the players same conditions and after a year i see Stephano winning almost all and HuK, IdrA, MaNa, Grubby taking second places alongside with Nestea and MVP.

I can name a few players that are gods of BW: Jaedong, Bisu, Stork.
Alongside Flash, those players are not the best players of all RTS, but BW. Given proper time and training, they can be gods of SC2.
The same goes to Grubby.

It is nice that you can see to alternate dimensions like that. It really is. I try to look at facts however and I see none supporting what you just said. And nah, they're gods of RTS in general. I wouldn't say Grubby is.

Again, Bolt dominating the (arguably) most competitive of the running disciplines (100m sprint) does not make him a greater runner than Gebrselassie.

Different disciplines.

SC2 is out for a little over a year, so when he started half a year later, it means his concurents has double the time he has to master the game?

You speak of facts, so list at least one that says Stephano won't be able to win GSL in a year.

I don't know in what reality you live if you think that Flash (supposedly being RTS god) can win,
say C&C tournament if he has no idea how to play this game.
Given some time and proper practice he might, but not now.

Facts are (the true ones, not your imaginated):

1: Stephano won 2 major tournaments in 3 weeks, taking out code S players.
2: He progressed to this point very rapidly. a year from master league to arguably the best foreigner.
3: He has the raw talent, that if nurtured properly, can lead him even higher.
4: Stephano practices on EU server with foreigners and without proper guidance of proffesional coach.
5: Korea is an ideal place to learn SC2, since there are best conditions to do so.
6: If Stephano can practice the way he could in Korea, he can be the best.

If you see anything wrong with those facts, please enlighten me.

I'm most impress with Mana performance than with Stephano's one. Mana has beat MC with a very solid play and MC was playing not too bad, not particularly good either but not bad. Stephano played against Marineking and MKP didn't played at all. I felt like he was wrong in every move he did. It's not that Stephano didn't played very well but i'm just feeling like Mana was better than Stephano overall.

I attended ESWC and i feel like Stephano wouldn't last long in Korea. He has a very good playstyle but with very little efforts, Koreans would be able to counter/abuse it. Mana was playing very classic the whole tournament and i don't know if you have seen his games on the finals but that was not his best. Maybe what makes Stephano really good at the moment is his consistency. I hope that will last long but i'm not too sure about that.

Grubby was really good, his pvp needs some work but he is really strong overall too. He took a game from MKP as well.

Thorzain is developping his playstyle and i'll watch him closely in the next few months. He was a bit off during ESWC but he showed some great things.
