Which video are you refering the micro stutter? and on 720p should I take off the aspect ratio because it wouldnt have any black stuff on the sides.
Edit: On the 1050 one almost to the end, I changed to scene 1 which doesnt have dxtory to see if I get any difference. It seems like I get lower fps if I dont use dxtory.Last edit: 2011-10-10 07:39:20 |

| I guess I will just stick to the 720p but it is really hassle to go between scenes and my new razer blackwidow macro key wont work to change the scenes easily. |

CTRL-D with ALT-D works flawless for me on changing scenes. You might have used yourself to something else but i recommend you try it out.

Well that was what i wanted to explain to HellGreen , I never could reach the same quality with using only Xsplit and i am still not sure why but nevertheless i am happy to be streaming with a better one beside the fact i am using it to fix my problem ingame.
yeah unfortunately when I stream I get only 20 fps. I'm pretty sure its my quad core (intel Q8400 2.66 ghz). Luckily for me I am getting my I5 2500k 3.3 ghz (3.7 turbo) this week so hoping that changes and I can get 62 fps and stream like that. Well update the results on this ^_^. |

Once you get in in Dxtory go to the "Advanced" tab and down there you will be able to see
"Limit video FPS" When i installed it, it was checked with 60 fps , it might be 30 at yours so turn it off and you will be fine .

What exactly do you mean it's a hassle? Just setup short-cuts and you're fine, right?
If you are referring to the actual scene switching when going ingame and coming out of the game, there are solutions for that too. I've made an free app that does it for you: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=269995. If you don't like it, there are alternatives out there.
And for the aspect ratio: Stream in the same aspect ratio as you play in. If you play in 16 : 9, use a 16 : 9 stream resolution too. However, keep in mind, that if you're viewing your stream on anything but 16 : 9 you will naturally have black bars. It's not the software that makes it lag - it's your settings! If you read up on how networks work, you would see the problem here. You cannot send more data at the viewers than they can receive (Mbit/s), unless ofc. as stated by Nepsilon you have a middleman break down the stream into lower resolutions.
Also the accusations that FME is a constant bitrate streaming software are purely wrong. First of all, it's all controlled in the codec, not the main program. Well yeah! I typed that i have to choose between high quality and loosing viewers or go low quality and having more viewers. Neither Xsplit or FME has any solution for it. Have to be a partner with Twitch so they can automaticly transcode the stream. Also in FME there is only a Bitrate setting while in Xsplit you have a Max Bitrate. In XSplit i can set that to 14 000 and it "can" use up to that, but i never see the stream go anything higher than 2000. Its poor quality.
In FME its constant, setting it to 5000 for example i immediatly see the difference but it will lag for people with low connection. I just wish there was something client side that could do this for us. I mean so many have such killer connections and hardware, that many could be streaming 1080 ingame quality. I know i can, but i lack the tech for it. |

People do Vods / they stream in average quality and do 1080 vods as well. That might be 1 solution if you are beeing bugged with. As well if you have a very powerful PC or maybe another PC next to you you can set 2 streams at the same time , 1 with low 1 with very high quality so viewers can choose between. Not sure if this comes of any value but i guess you can try if you can handle the requirements.
And i said previously , you can set Dxtory to stream in 720p for an example while local record on 1080p. Afterwards just upload the video to youtube for an example.
(I havent tested it yet because my HDD as i mentioned is very bad (50mb/sec speed which is very bad) And i think you need HDD that supports greater than 100-150 mb per sec.
Rough numbers again. |

So basically if you have ur PC able to handle only xsplit by itself and have no problem during playing (and if you have the patience till then release the final version and force u to buy it and use it) than i suggest you to stick with xsplit itself and not spend anything on Dxtory. |

a) Actually if you think you got the hardware for it, you can dual-stream with XSplit. Just setup one stream for 480p and one for 720p (or 1080p). In the "Broadcast" menu you can turn on several streams at once. Of course you will need two accounts - alternatively you can use the "Resolution" setting in channel setup for multiple resolutions. Note, you need a hardcore streaming rig to do this .
b) It just different names for the same feature. In XSplit the max isn't a hard limit anyway - it will go above if it needs to. And if you don't come above 2000 kbit/s it's because your settings doesn't require it to Last edit: 2011-10-11 01:28:56 |

I've bought a copy of XSplit and have tried the GameSource for quite some time. As I just had a break through with setting up DXTory, I've been able to do a comparrison. At the current state there's about +5 FPS difference on my rig (GameSource vs. Regular). DXTory performs even better at the current time. On a particular test I did, these were the starting FPS I saw:
XSplit regular: ~18FPS
XSplit GameSource: ~23FPS
DXTory: ~28FPS
The test (a 3v3 replay) was designed to stress my rig, and not usable for live streaming as such. As the replay progressed, my CPU became bottlenecked and all figures fell to ~12.Last edit: 2011-10-11 02:21:23 |

Thank you very much for the comparation but lets not forget the xsplit is still in beta. It might be the same as dxtory when they properly release the final version they are working on.

| Directshow with DXTORY only works when i have File Output selected aswell. If i have File Output unchecked it will not even start. i have tried many different hotkeys, even normal keys such as W, A, S, D, all Fnumber keys. But directshow does work if i have file output selected. Unfortunately i don't have enough hard drive space to have file output selected every time i want to stream. Does anyone know what is wrong? Thanks |
