Open your dictionnary and find metagame please. Only thing it has is a wikipedia page that is constantly being updated to reflect it's meaning in different context.

| All casters should replace the "b" consonant with the "p" sound a la day[9]. |

| I can't be overly critical of casters, especially live casters. They've got a lot going on to monitor at one point, especially wen you get to the stage pf the game where there are constant drops, multi-pronged attacks, and things which require their attention, and they have to talk about these while commentating all of the action going on with the main army. So small phrases like "he's gonna clean this up" helps shorten the time casters need to respond to this stuff. I do get your point about "That's gonna need to be a GG," b/c its' kinda redundant, but I think it makes the player seem better if they lose this round, but keep fighting. |

| I also agree with most of what is written on this thread. Another critical annoyance I have with English casters is how redundant their casting is. Instead of trying to describe the overall flow of the game and consequences of the actions they are taking and in depth analysis, all they can manage to commentate is what is being shown on the screen and only that. Kind of turns me off from English casting. If only the Korean casts had more subtitles.. Now those are quality commentaries. |

"innuendo" - Yes, we all know you learned a new word - But _why_ keep using this in Starcraft commentary? Especially when 9/10 times I've heard it, its been misused - Just chose a different word! Looking at you Gretorp - Although you are not alone! Ô_Ô

Every single time someone says "BEATIFUL FORCEFIELDS/STORMS/FUNGALS" it annoys me.
Spells have smartcast in SC2, and just pressing a hotkey and aiming isn't the hardest thing to do, something i can get behind is calling out good caster positioning or smart tactical use of for example storms, but everytime the protoss in a PvT just casts 6 storms in 2 seconds and the casters label it as "beatiful storm" its just stupid. |

^These two really annoy me since almost very caster uses it regardless of how good the fungal/ forcefield /storm really is. There are also some things that are characteristic of casters that when used by someone else just sounds horrible. For example the Tastosis "nerd chills" they use all the time, I think it's funny and don't mind it too much, but when other casters use it it just irritates me.
Totally agree that "BEAUTIFUL forcefields/ fungals/ storms/ EMPs/ any other spell that gets cast" is overused. Unless it's MC-level forcefields, they're really not *that* beautiful. Unless the EMPs catch *all* the spellcasters, it's really not *that* noteworthy. Platinum and diamond players can cast spells *just as beautifully* as is advertised, sometimes. I understand that casters often need to fill up time or make things sound more exciting than they really are, but when you actually recognize that the casted spells really didn't hit their marks, you really can't help but roll your eyes at the overhyped comments that some casters make.
This is sooo correct. It really pisses me off when I see like 10 overlapping forcefields or blanket storm/fungal/emp and they are "beautiful". I mean you really don't need to sell it so much, rather say just like "omg and he gets the storms/fungals/emps off!"(and infact the forcefields I kinda think they should question the amount used rather than say it's good).
I kinda only really feel all the excitement is warranted when it's snipes/feedbacks, because that's actually something that can be hard to pull off, since the other 3 I feel are more a fail of your opponent rather than an achievement of yours. |

"Player X is the best player in the world right now"
2 Bo3 later Player X drops down to Code A.
Tastosis really have bastardized the word "best".
They should replace "best" with the following:
"Most consistent" "Strongest at the moment" "Scariest in XvY match up" "Best in drops/multi-pronged attacks/micro/macro/decision making etc." "Most accomplished"
etc., be more specific! Just the word "Best" is waaaaay too general! |
