UPDATE: The list is considered "Based in America" a JP/EU only release will be considered hidden, a popular NA release not shipped to other countries however will not, for the sake of not adding every game not released in X country

TY for the topic move mods <3

For quite some time I have used the very similar "hidden gem movie" thread to find really interesting and unknown movies, as someone who has played a countless number of games I get excited at the idea of a video game that is fantastic but hard to find or unknown, and more than that, someone else getting the same feeling.

I'll be constantly adding to this post as well to help others find more unknown games quickly, I do not own every console on the face of the earth, so if I don't have your favorite game on the list...it just means I haven't had the chance yet to play it (but I will play it soon!)

RULES:

1. Please post the console/device along with an image/link to the game
2. Please state the genre of the game if possible
3. If you are commenting on a game please quote the person who posted it so it's easy to find.
4. Try to include at least one game in your posts
5. please use spoilers to talk about the game (to protect the experience for others)
6. DO NOT POST LINKS TO ILLEGAL DOWNLOADS/ROMS/EMULATORS
7. If the game is a flash game, please post a link to the game and image.
8. If the game image is not in English, please post the title.
9. Please talk about the game a tiny bit at least IE: "it's a good rpg with a interesting lvling system"

Please do not judge peoples picks as something common to you may not be as common to others semi-hidden gems are accepted

There will be picks on this list you don't agree are "hidden enough"
but, understand it's the only way possible to have a public open list.

Without more to say...here comes the (soon to be) massive list.

FAQ:
Q. The section "____" doesn't have many games I think are hidden enough!
A. The section "___" is actually just missing your important expert additions to it to fill it with your standard of hidden gems!

Q. Having just a picture is hard to decide what game is right for me.
A. I totally agree! I will be adding trailers/descriptions when the list settles down (right now it's seeing an average of over 40-60 entries a day!)

Q. I can't read X game it's in moon speak/hard to read!
A. Don't worry when the list becomes more stable I'll add a list of titles below the pictures

Inputting special characters into chat should no longer cause the game to crash.

Valkyrie Profile for Playstation, so underrated. The story is awesome, the characters are awesome, the controls are wonderful, I can't rate it highly enough.
I like the purple bags of skittles.

RPG for the Gamecube. Hidden gem for me, at least. No one I know has played this/know what it is. RPG with a lot of depth that challenged not just mechanical skill in fights, but had various puzzles/mazes that required some thinking (to the mind of my 11 year old self, yes.) Very good story line too, with personality depth of characters that could have come out of a novel. Maybe i'm romanticizing the game because it was a big part of my childhood, but I feel it was damn good at least.

Question; i once played a game on the PS1 were the game was saved on the internal chip and after that you had to remove the game disc and enter a music cd.
The game would then be a jump-n-run and the world would be generated based on the entered music cd.
How is that game called ?

If you mean genre it'd be: Other
I have no clue what game you are talking about but sounds REALLY interesting much like
the gimmick to Monster Rancher.

I'm not sure if it's a widely known game but if you haven't played it before, PLAY IT!
Somewhere, something amazing is waiting to be known.
