The Major League Gaming season finals will be here in less than a week, where the best Starcraft 2 professional players compete for a first place prize of $50,000.00!!!
The best part is there are two locations to watch the action while having a bite to eat and some drinks along with other local Starcraft fans.
NoodleCraft 4

Anyone and everyone of all ages are welcome to come down, watch some starcraft, and eat some tasty noodles. The store has 4 flat screen tvs showing the games in HD.

back in edmonton, will be out to this one for sure.

Thanks for posting this Sonik. Glad to see Edmonton chugging along.

Will there be an improvement for the picture quality at barcraft?

Both NoodleCraft and BarCraft at Rouge Lounge are fantastic events for the Edmonton SC2 fan. The Tokyo Glaze at Ooodle Noodle and Rouge Wings at Rouge Lounge are incredible. The food is tasty, and the drinks are flowing at both venues! The drinks at Oodle Noodle are just non-alcoholic...
If you are a fan of SC2 and food, this is one weekend of MLG festivities that you don't want to miss. Both OldManTekh and Sonik are wonderful hosts who will be happy to answer any of your questions!

People should be getting sick at work any day now. I hear theres this 'bug' going around, causing people to get sick and miss work Sunday. True story.

Come one, come all!
Thanks Sonik for posting this. ^^ Makes sense to put all the things Edmonton into one post.

amazing eSports with fanatical viewers multiply the fun

How was the Barcraft last time? I went to the first Barcraft and was really disappointed mostly because I can't stand being jammed into a small place with way too many people than can fit. Was there more room last time when they opened it up to other sides? Is there a possibility of having a table for my friends and I since it's now more open?
|
It was great last time!
That food is outstanding.
Come early if you want a table

Was it just as sardine can packed with it open to the whole restaurant? Or was it less crammed in there?

I had lots of fun at the last few, but I'm having a hard time convincing people to come and pay $10 when we can watch from home and actually read things like game chat and production tabs.

It was packed, but I can't compare it to the first as I wasn't there.

If they just got renovated, I would assume the CRT TV's are gone.

At the risk of getting flamed for criticizing a good thing I'm going to bring this concern up. I hope that some sort of explanation can be provided.
The $10 cover for the barcraft at Rouge lounge... what is that covering? There is no charge to stream the show. This is usually why there is a cover for UFC fights and other pay-per-view programs. Bars have to pay a significant amount of money to show the fights in the bar, and make it back via cover. Profit (as I understand it) comes mainly from food and drink sales. Mostly drink. Since it is free for the bar to stream MLG I can only see the $10 being 100% profit. Perhaps it can be removed? Or at the very least lowered to something more reasonable?
Again, correct me if I am wrong. If there is a good reason to charge a $10 cover then by all means, do so. I'll gladly pay it. I'm just not seeing it because there is a ton of food and drink sold at these events, making a ton of profit. Can we get some insight?
Edit: After looking through a few of the other barcraft threads only one other event has a cover. MLG Montreal Barcraft. Now look at the pictures. There is quite a bit of production involved in that event. Theres a whole show involved.

I understand what you mean, but on the other hand, if they don't charge a cover. What's to stop people to just sit and watch? Another thing they can impose is a minimum purchase, if not already.

I was watching the projector the whole time, had an almost perfect view, and still couldn't read the conversation between Huk and MC during the finals.

I think we proved that we aren't going to do that by drinking all their miller chill last time. Besides, if you just want to sit and watch wouldnt you just do it at home?

Rouge Lounge has been doing some renovations (so there are more seats available). And, for our next Barcraft, they will have a completely redone, brand new, video system!!! There will be more big screen tv's on a high definition network! For this Sunday, though, I have been working with the guys at Rouge to improve the video quality. There will be new projectors and definitely a large improvement! Day9's sweaty pits never looked so good!
As for the entry price, it includes a free, extra large slice of Rose Bowl's famous pizza, plus free game time at OverKlocked, and goes to cover the costs for the event. We would absolutely love to have you out and continue to stream live professional eSports in a high energy, sexy venue where you can enjoy awesome food, beverages (including the wobbly variety) and be in the company of other passionate gaming enthusiasts! A lot of thought went in to prices, but running this event does cost money, and thus the entry price. I hope this answers your questions Brettatron.
Rouge Lounge has announced their food and drink specials that they will be giving strictly to us Barcrafters! $3.50 pizza by the slice (on select flavours), $0.35 wings, and $4.00 pints of domestic beer. And you're entry includes a free extra large slice of pizza!
I'm looking forward to seeing everyone out again. I'll see you Friday and Saturday at Oodle Noodle and Sunday at Rouge!
